to late to buy an xbox 360?

ok so ive been trying to hide my need to play FPS's just owning a wii (i have no intentions on making the wii look bad, cuz i actually really enjoy it, and the conduit is an awsome FPS i play a lot, but I just cant seem to live without halo) i own a black xbox which i never actually use, but since then ive been a HUGE halo fan.. i just love the multyplayer and the story and MasterChief and everything since halo 2 .. and i happen to be quite good at it :P but when the new gen systems launched i tought the wii was awsome and so i bought one, and never bought an xbox 360 .. but even though i didnt had an xbox i was allways checking bungie.net and any updates on halo 3 before it came out, and when it did., i had a friend of mine buy it the first day and we played it all day.. and so i just played halo when i went to a friends house.. but then a cousin came to my house to live. and he brought his xbox (he owned halo 3) and we got xbox live, and i started playing, and playing, and playing.. and so on...... i played a lot with him, *my user name is Killer New Fish*.... but the only game we played was halo, no more.. i had it for 6 months and then,, my aunt decided to get it back because my little cousin wanted it back,. i was of course very pissed off.. but somehow i know this was partly because of my mother :S she told me quite a few times i played to much and didnt pay attention to my studies (which is absurd) , so yeah.. i had halo no more.. that was 6 months ago.. when the xbox was taken away from me, and so ive lived the last 6 months without it.. but im really thinking about getting one, the main reason is halo, but ive been doing my research and there are some othre preatty awsome FPS's available which look preatty good not to mention Fable, which i am also a huge fan since Fable one.. oh, oh and after watching the microsoft E3 anouncment on Halo Reach.. well you know i got a bit crazy about it, and theres also halo ODST comming out soon and i might also buy Halo Wars since i love the genre..

BUT , i was wandering.. is it too late to buy an xbox 360? should i wait for the next microsoft console? which im not sure there will be,.. just the same thing with natal included (i think) ... should i wait for a price drop? is there actually going to be any price drop anytime soon? should i buy a used one or a new one? ..

i really appriciate in advance any comment or advise in my situation.. thanks

as for your question regarding the 360's lifespan, I recently read in an interview with IGN and someone from MS, that the 360 wasn't even halfway through it's life cycle... however, there is a rumor that the 360 may see a price drop on the Elite soon...don't know if it's been confirmed yet, but it's worth the wait.

Aaah, wall of text but know, it is not too late to buy an Xbox 360. Plenty more great games are on the same and Project Natal... that's just the beginning!

I just bought one to compliment my PS3. There are plenty of reasons to own an xbox 360 right now. I've had 2 in the past and I just keep coming back, mainly for the RPGs, but if you love Halo that much, how could you not get one? We already know that this generation will be host to at least 2 more Halo games so you've got plenty of time

i msure it will get a price cut and all those great game will come out. Forza3,splinter cell conviction,left for dead 2,call of duty 6,assassins creed 2. and much much more, your choice will be easier bc you can read reviews and all. and 2009 start with alan wake and mass effect2! and it ends with Halo Reach!.

Project Natal has pretty much proved that another Xbox won't be coming out for a few years. I am not saying there won't be different models of the 360 released in the future but a new console entireley won't be for at least three years.

In regards to your question about getting a new or used one, I myself would suggest you get a new one. The used ones tend to be systems that had problems in the past such as RROD. They also don't have very long warranty. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a new one.SoulGamer2k9

I reckon once you've bought your xbox package, and got bored of the game it comes with, trade it on goozex.eu as soon as possible and considering its probably relatively new you should be able to get two few month old games for the same amount of points you earnt trading in your game. its a great site : www.goozex.eu

I think the main question you're asking is if it's too late for the 360, and the answer is no. It will still be quite a few years before a new console is released and plenty of great games exist and will come out from now until then. You're a huge Halo fan... and judging from your post you love Halo 3 (duh) so there's a reason right there. But also, Halo ODST and Halo Reach are coming out, 2 games you're not gonna wanna miss. There's plenty of great FPS games already out such as the CoD series. MW2 comes out this fall, we have L4D and L4D2 coming out this fall.. There's a lot of stuff you're not going to want to miss out on and I think this is the perfect time to buy a 360, they've never been cheaper and you'd get an upgraded model with less chance of RRoD. Not to bash on the Wii (I love the thing) but it's very arcady stuff and just doesn't fill my need for hardcore gaming. I think getting a 360 of your own would be one of the wisest choices you'll make and it will make you very happy.wwervin

well it is certain to me now that the 360 would fill a missing space in my gaming life :P i do love halo but i would also buy more games of course, i feel the exact same way regarding the parts i bolded.. i just need more hardcore gaming (left for death looks awsome) thanks for the advise!
