Well I think that what these developers are saying is completely true. I don't want a game that takes 100 hours. Hell, even 10 hours is too much these days. I want a game that lasts for 10 minutes, tops. You know, you fire up the xbox, you see the developer logos, then you have an intro movie clip, then the game starts. You walk left for 10 seconds then you've finished the game. That'd be awesome. It could be called "Crossing a Small and Quiet Road: The Official Game".

Hmmmm... Actually that's a great idea for the Too Human sequel...

A Too Human developer says that "These days gamers dont want a 100 hour game. The shoter the better" I have just one thing to say WTF... Link: http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=4559sonofabear17

I only play RPGs and free-roam games for the most part, so I say to WTF? id like to see a few FPS go over the 10 hour mark on the 360. I love games that are at least 50-100 hours. Makes it worth spending $60.00. I dont feel its worth it when playing games like Prey, gears, Lost Planet, and paying $60.00 only to have it end after 7-10 hours F*** that.

Games that short should only be 30.00-40.00 IMO. Of course I rent games like that so I dont have to buy them. Why buy when you can spend 5.00 (or cheaper with gamefly) to rent it, beat it play multiplayer for a month then give it back.

It matters on what genre... Shooters don't really need to be 20 hours, but more like 10-15 (as long as they do have a story).

Now Action/Adventure and RPG games need to have i think at the least 35-40 hours... AT THE LEAST.

Racing games in term of story can be about as long as a shooter (mainly because most racing games don't have story, but more like a Gran Tourismo campaign).

RTS need i think about 15-25... Mainly because most RTSs while they are good they never seem to match Warcrafts style of online. Yes i don't like melee matches only i want custom built maps with goals of a tower defense. If i wanted melee matches only i would play offline skirmishes either LAN or against the Comp.

Other genres can be varied more around the shooter to rts genres needs (Like sims and puzzle games).

Maybe this is the reason why the developers have gotten into lazy mode and making a bunch of short games lately (Gears of War, GRAW 2, Lost Planet, etc.)  But dear lord, please don't make Too Human short!

But come on, these guys are really being too over the top. They're comparing 100 hour games to 10 hour games, theres too much gap. Plus, they're only speaking for the casual gamers.

what i think about short games is that it had better have good mp or some sort of solid replay value. too human will have mp, but its a fairly linear game storywise, and the only mp is co op. soo really, i want this game to be long. the longer the better.

well if it's 100 hours of the main story quest I won't mind but if it;s for the optional quests that have nothing to do with the stiry then yes I don't want the 100 hours

it depends on the genre. I personally want non RPG's to be around 20 to 30 hours in length and RPG's to be around 60 or more hours

suzukigsxr

i agree

I feel a game should be around 25-30 hours. With RPGs and other non-MP games being longer. A FPS/TPS with a good MP portion could be cut to around 15 hours. This 8 hour BS that we're recently getting is ridiculous.

I think 15 hours for a FPS is about good, 20-25 hours if there is no multiplayer.  25-30 seems good for an adventure or action game, so yea, I kinda agree that 100 plus hours is too much for most games.  Massive RPG's and MMO's are differant of course.

If people didn't like long games Morrowind wouldn't have won so many awards. I still play that game.

most people with lives(job school social life), really dont have time to sit and play through a 100 hour adventure.  Id love to be able to but i just dont have the time.  When i was younger i could easily do it.  Now that i have stuff i want and have to do its just not possible.

20-30 hrs campaign with great replay value is a perfect game. 100 hr rpgs is all talk and walk and story. How much of that is actually meaning full fights.

100 hours is pretty damn long. 50 is fine though, for me.

not too long...not too short.
