They didn't justify the 5.5 at all. They listed 3-4 minor flaws that we all knew it had, but it was seriously too harsh in the scoring. They also said that norse mythology is weak storytelling. Whatever though, it's still going to sell a ton.hopesfall2own
That has been done before by other sites. IGN did the same thing with Alone in the Dark. You're right though, Too Human will sell a ****load of copies
Read the IGN reviews, they actually don't seem to be written by my 3 year old cousin, I wish I could say that much about the GS review, which seems to have been written by Forest Gump or Simple Jack (for those of you who have already seen Tropic Thunder).McNulty5
Say what you will about Simple Jack, but Forrest Gump is a genius and an icon.:|

Too Human got a 5.5 recently from Gamespot. And as we all know, anything below a 7.5 is forgettable. I mean there is very few games under a 7.5 from Gamespot that I still like. (For instance, Army Of Two)... Now, I was excited for Too Human until I played the demo. I hated the demo. I was going to get this game, but too many signs point to no. Who's still getting Too Human?RD1109
anything below a 7.5 is forgetable? geez...
I'm buying Too Human. I buy games based on how much I like them, not based on how much other people like them.
If you don't like the game, fine, don't get it....but quit being sheep and buying games based only on the kind of reviews it gets.

high five. totally agree, don't base your whole opinion from reviews, because afterall, reviews are opinions as well. trust your instincts.
A 5.5 might seem a bit harsh, but hey, it's not like we were expecting a 9 game from Silicon Knights ;)OpperMeneer
???
Silicon Knights made the acclaimed Eternal Darkness, which got a 9.2 here and a 9.6 on IGN. For that reason, I was hoping to see great things from this game...
Ouch 5.5 seems a bit harsh
Considering how easily review sites seem to give away 9s in recent months, to give out a 5.5 is either a sign the game is critically flawed, or they are trying to balance the reviews they are giving to show they don't always give out top grades.
I don't give a flying **** about reviews im 1000% for this gameDuel_King_XThat's pretty much the way it goes. If some guy who doesn't like RPG's reviews Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (for example), he probably would think it's the stupidest game in the world, get frustated and write a poor review for it and focus on all the negatives of his experience with the game.
Here's the thing, this is obviously a game for some and not for others. GamePro gave it a 4/5 (or 8/10) after all.
If you score like gymnastics, take away the lowest (GameSpot) and highest (GamePro) scores and average the rest, based on the websites they show in critic scores anyway, you'll get 7.15. Worth a rent.

Agreed !!
A 5.5 might seem a bit harsh, but hey, it's not like we were expecting a 9 game from Silicon Knights ;)OpperMeneerwell even about a 6 aint a really bad score, a game around the 6 mark, means usually its a average game and probs only appeals to the hardcore fans of the title. not to many causals to that type of game/ip usually when u hear about games that taken like 10 years to come out, re-written on new engine after engine, they usually aint that good when they come out as they sounded when they were first announced. theys not many games i can think of that taken 10 years that come out eventually and then were incredable games. i think from one point of the devs thats going to really cause shed loads of problems with the budget and money they spent on it. think of how much they will of budgeted to make this game, and what they really spent. like look at prey, that went through the same sort of deal taking over 10 years to come out, remade for system after system (like the same people doing with D N Forever 3d) in the end u get a decent game but nothing like u were expecting for all the build up and wait. this game was never going to be a 8/9/10 because of all the stories you hear coming out from the devs with all the problems they had over the years, even in they last run on the build they had to change things over again after falling out with unreal over they engine. problems like that dont go away. alot of bad project management has really made this game suffer still i think it will be a good game for those that are dead set on liking it, wont be for everyone but thats to be expected. dont think ive liked many games as much as the best games ive played that have taken this long to make. taking years to make is one thing but when games change engine and rebuilt again and again its never going to be as good as if they made what they wanted first time around.

Yes, 6 is "fair". 5 is "mediocre". So what is 5.5? Mediocrely fair?

100% agree. I liked the demo and i pre-ordered the game based on how much fun i had with it. I'm sure not going to take some guy on Gamespots word for it. I don't even think those guys are gamers. It's like asking my mom for a review.

i dunno, but 6s are still usually decent games to people who dead set on liking that series. id take 6 at being just plain average nowt special, nowt new just a average game, 5.5 below average. but one review dont really mean much, its probs much better to add together all the reviews then divide them to get the average review score, than just taking one reviewers word for it.[QUOTE="RD1109"]Too Human got a 5.5 recently from Gamespot. add both reviews together then divide by 2. works out 6.65 which kind sounds more like what people have said after playing the demo, some like it. alot struggling to get the game. but i always think thats the best way to get a games proper score, check the scores from the places u respect. add them all together (in the same format like you obviousily need to double ratings out of 5 when comparing them to 10s.) and divide by how many reviews have been made, take the average now ur getting to a real score,. then just one persons view on the game. which i thinks a better way to judge if u must judge from reviews. the demo ive played it my self, not bothered about what reviews say, i might get it, but if i do it will be when its dirt cheap 2nd hand. i cudnt really pay 40pounds for this game, but if u want a real score then do the above. so it takes into account good reviews and bad reviews and gives a overall magazine perspective on the game, which means any haters or pure fans of the games opinions get mixed up so any pros and cons used to review the game and come to a score is evened out and more in perpective than reading a hater or a fanboys review of the game,.Well looky here - Too Human actually did flop!
I guess I wasn't so far off last week, eh?
Many T_T's.
And for those of you STILL beefing it, saying "no one is your daddy, you have your own mind, reviews don't matter" please, please tell me why you participate in a game REVIEWing website, surrounded by people who review games on their own?
By actively denying reviews constantly, you are actually telling people like Silicon Knights they can make a crap game, but spew Diablo-esque referances to gameplay during development and still make tons of money - because no one controls you!
What rebels! :)

It flopped? When did that happen? I thought it came out today? OHHHHHHHH you mean because Kevin VanOrd gave it a 5.5!!! I missed the meeting where it was decided he was the god of gaming and would determine the success of all games... I was sick that day. I was still under the assumption that ppl had free reign to make up their own minds and think for themselves... silly me.
Every intelligent post about this game (even the haters) have stated this is a "Love or Hate" kind of game, just because the GS guy that reviewed it was in the "Hate" category, doesn't make it a flop... just like if the guy in the next cubicle gave it a 9, that wouldn't make it a "Must buy classic".
The success of this game wont be known for a few months and even if thats overwhelmingly positive or negative... what does it matter for the people that like it and play it?
