Trying to Start playing RPGs

So I have never really played RPGs before, but it is something that I want to start doing. I was wondering people opinions, if Skyrim was too much RPG to start with? or should I go with something that is a but of both action/RPG like mass effect?I finally have time to put into a game, and I want to pick up one of those kind of titles.

The Elder Scrolls 3:MorrowWind, The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, Final Fantasy series(which are on this console)

Not sure but there are loads of more RPG'S on the Xbox 360 but hope these ones do good

me no like rpg vely bad games to hard play game in shooting better ok.

The Fable games can be a good introduction to RPG's, they aren't like RPG's like Skyrim, Fallout, Dragon Age, Kingdoms Of Amalur and others, but they are reasonably laid back with a good learning curve.

If you want a more old fashioned kind of RPG then Dragon Age Origins is a great one to go for. If you want a more expansive RPG then the Elder Scrolls andFallouts are good, but they can be demanding on first time RPG players.

Kingdoms Of Amalur is a good adventure RPG, but it might be challenging for someone new to RPG's. There are also JRPG's like Final Fantasy and Blue Dragon, although they might be a tad hard going and fairly boring.

Live Arcade has RPG's as well like Torchlight, a dungeon crawler kind of RPG, and older RPG's like Phantasy Star 3.

I definitely agree with this. I think any of the Fable games are a great place to start for RPG. Smoke also mentioned KoA which I think would be another way to get in to RPGs.

If you really want to get RIGHT into them, I recommend going back to the beginning for 360 and picking up TES: Oblivion.

Try out Mass Effect (start with the first one), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Lost Odyssey to get an idea of what to expect from different kinds of RPGs and from there it should be pretty easy to know what kind of RPGs you'd like.

I recommend Fallout 3

Tales of Vesperia may be a good one for you to try out as well.

I woulld suggest Kingoms of Amalur as a furst RPG. The combat system is great and it is not that difficult. It would be a good game to start learning how to level your characters abilities and skills. Even if you make a few mistakes along the way you can still finish the game and not get stuck. Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age II would be good also. I would suggest staying away from Final Fantasy and Falloutgames until you have some RPG experience

After watching my son play them, I would recommend the Fable series as well, along with Torchlight, which is very easy to pick up and play.

Of course, once you're comfortable with RPGs, Fallout 3, Skyrim and Oblivion are highly recommended. Divinity 2: Dragon Knight Saga and Two Worlds II are also good.
