Guessing the two events are unrelated? Sounds like the red rings of death to me :(

NYCbrisk, 4 red lights means the Xbox doesn't detect audio/video. Maybe it's a faulty cable?
I just bought the cable online from ebay. NYCbriskNew or used? Have you tried it with another monitor or tv?
If I were you, I'd just go with HDMI. It's a sharper picture and no bs with cables. 4 red rings means most likely something isn't plugged in correctly.

Or it's not plugged in properly, or it's got dust or some other obstruction in the connector. I've tried removing any kind of dust and re plugging, still nothing ; (Please Log In to post.
