i have many reasons to be upset with microsucks, this is just the icing on a cake of bullsh... i got the splinter cell xbox because of 250 gb, then they go and release a new version with same size hdd for the same price as old 120 gb!!! it was a few months, and there was no word on it when i got splinter cell xbox, so yeah that got me a little perturbed and now the higher price for live... psn and wii are free! so yeah microsoft slowly is making me question why i still get xbox, but if it wernt for games like crackdown and fable, i would not be on xbox right now trust me. not to mention the fact that between me and my roommate we have had 9 xboxes! im on 4 he is on his 5th. he got lucky and had best buy warrenty so his new slim was free, all he lost was save games. i have lost save games because of hdd failure, and had rrod and e74 or whatever, and my last one before this one the disk drive totaly died. its a poorly designed console loaded with issues, and as much as i love xbl, i dont think its worth another 10 bucks every time i get a year subscription! i dont want espn, heck thats why tv cost so much, its the frikken espn! if espn were not around your cable bill would probaly be about 15 bucks less a month, i used to work for directv and i saw info about the price per channel, and espn is one of the highest and not everyone wants it but its in every package because of contracts with providers and now they snaked into my xbox and i have to pay? thats messed up to pass the buck to me for stuff that i wont use, make a different priced xbl for people who dont want that crap, make a multiplayer only xbl and keep the "free" content i have to pay so much for!
You're mad that you got to play your Xbox for a couple of months before they started selling a new model, and now all of a sudden you felt like you somehow deserved that new model? Trade yours in if that's the case. You chose to purchase it. A few months is not a short time, you had plenty of time to think about your decision and enjoy your Xbox. As for Live, it may be going up in price, but it hasn't yet from what I know. Go buy a couple of cards and keep them for later use. Or better yet, just shop online later on. I've never had a problem getting cards around 30-40$ online, always under the MSRP. It's not that hard do a little research. Sorry that you and your roommate have ruined 9 Xboxes. I'm still on my very first one. Never had a single problem with it in all the years I've had it. Perhaps it's just bad luck on your part, or maybe you just don't treat yours well. I don't know..no im upset that i paid extra for something that was given free a short time later, and a couple of months is a short time. they market consoles as limited edition, the only way to get the 250 gb drive in black right so i dont have to pay over 100 bucks for a grey one that wont match, and then they release a new console right after i get my new one, lets say you go buy a game, you pay extra for exlusive dlc, then a week later you find out they released the game with the same dlc, and then some for less than what you paid, you are telling me honestly you wouldnt feel like the company didnt care about you, my friends think its hilarious that i paid extra for something that 3 months later was included no extra cost... and considering it was 100 bucks more, and the reason i had to buy a new one was the disk drive wasnt covered past 90 days and my refurb they sent was only 6 months old... i think i seriously got a short stick there. oh and you are saying WE ruined the xboxes, pull your head out of your arse and look at the sticky thread about broken xboxes, or maybe go look at the rate that they have issues. i have never had to buy a console more than once due to hardware failure, the only one i paid for twice was playstation the original, i sold mine and bought one later when i found the psone, the little one, for super cheap and figured it would be great to take with me when i left home for job corps since its cheap and if it breaks who cares. but anyways, microsoft time and again seems to not care about consumers, they only care about there bottom line even at our expense. and as far as you saying i chose to buy that console, if i went and got regular elite then i would have had 120 gb for same price they released a 250 for a few months later, all im saying is if you are about to launch something like that, why not give a price break to the old models since people who happen to be in that gap of i just bought it and now something better comes along for same price, wont feel screwed, what about the poor sods who bought an xbox just to go home and find out the new xbox was coming out, microsoft doesnt care they got their money so who cares if as a consumer i feel like you just told me to pay 400 dollars for something that your gonna sell for 300 and tell me to eat the cost! you can say what you want but our money is what keeps them in buisness and if people would quite acting like companys can do no wrong and consumers are supposed to be sh.. on then maybe we would see buisnesses change the way they do things and maybe actualy care about their customers, look at windows vista, total garbage, so microsoft says well sorry we blew it on that but here is how to fix it, go buy windows 7! pay us more money for screwing you over. its people who dont think that we should voice our complaints that allow companys to do this kind of stuff, and i for one am tired of it, i have been told by so many people that the companys run us, well guess what if we all say no more, no more crap consoles that dont work right, no more price increases for bullsh.. no more of any of it, and stop spending our money on that crap then guess what, things will change, imagine if we all said we dont want to pay 60 bucks a year for xbl and no one bought new memberships, we all just said no, soon microsoft would see consumers have the power, and they would have to change something or be left behind by a competetor that will, the problem is so many people are just sheep blindly following the shepard, problem is this shepard is leading us to the slaughter house.
