Very Interesting Halo 3 Article

All I know is my buddy played it the beta and felt it was weak and the stuff the guy is talking about in the article are concerns TONS of other writers have had. He even puts quotes from two other guys and I do have to say that visually, the game is weak. Obviously visuals don't make a game good but you would think they would be able to make them look as good as Gears at least and I like having bots because it just adds more gameplay value.

why would you want it to look like gears? its true what Jaime said..it would take away from the feel of halo if it looked like gears. i want it too look like halo which it does and fine with that. as for bots who the hell needs them when you have live?mother_farter

Man you guys don't comprehend things very well do you... I said they should try to at least look AS GOOD AS GEARS. I didn't say it should look like Gears. I'm talking the quality of the graphics. Either way I just found the article interesting and I really don't care for Halo anyway... CoD4 is going to blow it away.

The quote that sticks out to me the most is "we all expected a giant leap forward with the first Halogame for the Xbox 360". This is gonna be the last halo game on the 360 in terms of the actuall trilogy. And anyways, who knows how old of a build they saw at E3 anyways, and like I said, the graphics look better then the beta right now, and I thought the beta looked beautiful and I said to myself the graphics look nice, clean, and sharp and fits the halo art style, bungie is right, they could not keep the art style of halo with the detail that epic puts into unreal tournament and GoW.

All I know is that the graphics look great, mabye not mind blowing, but great, and trust me they look alot better then halo2, go and play halo 2 after watching HD footage of the halo 3 beta and you will notice the graphics look way better in halo 3. And the the most important funtion in an FPS is the gameplay and it is solid in halo 3 and the fact that it is gonna have 4 player co-op is awesome. And finally the sounds and music are all top notch, so I dont care what people are saying because all I know is that on Sep 25th im gonna be buying and playing halo 3, and lots of people claiming they coined the phrase "Halo 2.5, hahaha thats funny, look what I came up with", are prolly gonna be buying it.

And one more damn thing i got to get off my chest here.

Here's what I think: Bungie had a "Bring Your Kid to Work" day...but then the parents never came back. So the kids found an old build of Halo 2 in development and finished Halo 3based on that.

Who the hell are these 2 journalist because I really want to know, because they suck as game editors. How the hell does Anonymous game editor 1 know that Halo3 does not live up to the hype, no one has played it all the way through,except people deep inside bungie, and no one has played the final version yet. And obviously it does look better then GoW but insane detail like that does not fit the halo art, the game looks very sharp, clean and crisp, I love the way it looks and it is better then a Halo 2.5 in terms of a graphics upgrade. And again with Anonymous Game editor 2, how the hell does he know what a finished version of halo 3 from beginning to end looks like? He don't, these are clearly just speculations from very very poor game editors and they shouldn't be in the games industry if they judge a game before they've seenorplayed the final version. So what these guys have said is pretty much like saying, "The colts did not defend their super-bowl title" before the season has even begun.

You are a dream come true for game devs, you will buy a game regardless of quality because of the name. "Halo 2 was good, 3 can only be better!"

Many companies would go out of buisness without people like you, but still makes me laugh. A company can release one good game and slack off on the sequels, and it would still sell. They can milk the name on 1 or 2 sequels before people realise. I hope its good, but from what ive seen so far i don't want to expect too much.

your friend as his OWN opinion, the writers of the artcile have their OWN opinion, what about you ?? the only opinion that matters when choosing something ( in this case a videogame ) is up to you

shew I am glad that whole freakin article isnothing but an opinion. How many games have bots? Umm Time Splitters 2 because you couldn't play it online and Quake? Why play against bots when you can play against actual people? The beta seemed like 2.5, but I heard the final cut looks great. oh yeah, any sequel is going to seem a lot like the original especially if it is going along the same story line.Plus, he just wrote that article so people will put it in a forum, and have everybody else read it to get his name out into the public.

This article is a bit stupid I think there two main points is that Halo isnt trying to be a graphical showpiece, and it doesn't have bots. Well I'm glad they are going with the colourful textures and large environments, so what if it doesnt look as good as KZ 2 and Gears. As for the bots, why the hell do we need bots, thats what online is for, and the fact that they rather work on otherstuff then make bots sounds good to me. I always enjoy a good graphical show. With that said, why is Halo 2 my most played 360 game? Because I really like what Halo is (and Halo 3and Mass Effect aren't out). I agree with Hypo-9. They need to concentrate on more levels, weapons, smoothing the current graphics they have out and forget bots I want replayable gameplay and great multiplayer. I thought the beta was fun and it made me want Halo 3 even more. If people complain so much about Halo 2 and I still play it and Bungie admitted that they rushed it, which is not the case with Halo 3, thenI am sure I will love Halo 3 IMO.

i dont understand why people say these things that H3 is going to look like crap...I mean have you guys done any research on what the people are saying that the SP looks like now...every site who has been shown the Graphics are saying that is has been amped up from how the beta looked...I mean gears looked good but alot of the time the graphics looked to muddy in some places..WMDfreeman99

only 8 people online, no BIG maps, no usable vehicles some reasons for wich it looks better...in the other hand

halo 3 = up to 16 people online, ALOT of usable vehicles, BIG maps, will have more stuff on screen ( enemies, friends, vehicles )

Lord. It's a beta for a reason, it's not done. Bungie probably made a mistake with the beta cause now everybody thinks that's what the finished product looks like because a lot of people aren't very smart. First of all, it was a beta, second of all, it was MULTIPLAYER. 99% of the time all games look worse in multiplayer than in singleplayer. Look at Rainbow six Vegas. And why the hell do you need bots. Gears didn't have it and you can't seem to stop drooling about how awesome that game is and how it has already destroyed halo 3. Get Xbox Live for gods sakes. 12 cents a day pal. A hobo can afford Xbox Live.

I think it's strange that because he thinks that GTAIV, CoD4, and the Orange Box are going to be better games, that he's taken the September 25th release date as proof that Halo 3 is worse than those games. He doesn't even sound like he's being rational in the article. I don't know why any news source would publish that s*** because it's obvious he's unstable. I'm not saying I think Halo 3 will be the best game since Sliced Bread 2.0: Rise of the Bagel, but he's acting like he's the one who wrote the effing code for it. EDIT: And ANOTHER thing... he says that Rockstar could sell an empty box better than Halo 3. WTF? Halo 3 has more preorders than most games sell throughout their lives. I don't think it even matters how well other games sell because people are already going to buy Halo 3.

Try noticing that you are reading the 3rd page of an article that gives reasons why Halo 3 will be released in September. The first two pages talk of competition and the others are just hypothetical reasons based on what a few of the critics think. What you read on the third page is not what even close to the vast majority of editors who have played Halo 3 think of the game and its graphics. The constant comparison between GoW and Halo is stupid. They are in two completely different universes and should look nothing similar to the other. Halo 3 looks like a Halo game, just like its supposed to. I personally think GoW has a rather ugly finish to it myself. Halo 3 is much more clean and crisp than Gears....and I guarantee it won't be near as glitchy.

The reading on page 3 is a reason based on what some of the harshest critics thought of Halo 3. It can't be farther from the truth.

He can read. Just because you think it makes sense doesn't mean that he/we/anyone has to agree. I personally find that guy's reasons to be bull****. Halo 3 doesn't need to worry about its release date to sell copies. The only reason it makes sense is because you want it to.

First off, Halo is the reason why I purchased the first x-box. When Halo 2 came out, yes I was disappointed w/ the single player mode; game was just too linear 4 me. And we all know (least most of us) that if it wasn't 4 multiplayer, halo 2 would be collecting dust right now in our game collection. But, I think that this time around Bungie has taken the time to develop a solid game (will find out soon). And for those complaining about the graphics, it was just a beta.

So they were just giving us a piece of the game and not in its entirety.Thus, you must remember that we have not seen the final product, just a beta that allowed feed back from us (the gamers) on what we liked and didn't like; and not 4 any other reasons. So b4 any of us can make any speculation (which it is kind of fun to do) we all just need to wait b4 some of us start eating our words; even though it is fun to say, "I told you so!"

I agree with one of the posters here who said something along the lines of "Gears of War: it looks great but 8 players, no BIG maps and no vehicles, Halo 3: 16 players, BIG maps and vehicles." To be fair to Gears of War, vehicles would ruin the gameplay, you are constantly taking cover, running, shooting, taking cover, adding vehicles would ruin that. Also the vehicle on single player... Enough said. Halo 3 is more of a run and gun and vehicles won't ruin the gameplay but give it something extra.

I like how some people say that they'd rather have a game with great gameplay, rather than one with awesome graphics and so-so gameplay (aka Gears), but when the arguement is about Halo, they go nuts about the graphics and forget about the kick ass gameplay. That dudes's a graphics whoooreee.
