I know I'm beating this issue into the ground, but i have to mention it. If MS would release a patch for the VGA washout problems on some tvs, then there is no reason for HDMI. I'm so sick of the fact that the only way right now to upconvert DVD's makes all my movies look so dull. I'm considering buying the Elite just for the upconversion without any loss in color, but I think ill hold out until the spring update in hopes that they add a feature that lets you adjust color and contrast from the dashboard. just had to vent. i love my 360, but i dont wanna give ms anymore of my money. especially with may coming up so soon.

HDMI also outputs higher quality sound, VGA can't do that.

The VGA cable has an optical port on the rear. If you want higher quality sound, you'd be running it into a receiver with a nice speaker set-up, not into the TV's speakers.

Nonetheless, I'd love me some HDMI just to have a sharper picture and, of course, better color than the VGA. Anyone who says there's no difference has never seen a side-by-side comparison of analog and digital.
