Has anyone ever encoutered a problem that when you turn your xbox on it looks normal and all but then about 10-20 seconds after the game loads and youre about to get into the game, the video goes out? i mean the dashboard doesnt even show up, just the sound.

i thought this problem was caused by the HD/AV cable and went out and bought another one... turns out it still is doing it. so now im wondering if my xbox it self - which ive had since a few months after it came out and have never encountered a problem with it - is the problem and if im going to have to send it in.

if anyone has a suggestion on what i should do or have also encountered this problem yourself... please PLEASE!!! let me know.

PS just bought The Force Unleashed and cant even play it!

no0 i have never heard of this happening... Is your resolution set right (on xbox and maybe tv)? it might be your tv outputs so i would try using the outputs with another device and see what happens... hope this helps

yeah its not the resolution on my xbox or my tv, my tvs only 6 months old, i got a 42'' lcd sharp aqous i know its not that. its weird though when i turn it on with no game and the xbox white screen shows up and then goes into the dashboard for like 5 seconds and then the video goes out. im thinkin its somethin in the xbox itself where the video card is messed up or its just not able to send the signal to the HD/AV cable anymore.... regardless im mad!

also, this is what i am talking about exactly

Video failure

In mid 2007, technology and gamingblogs began reporting about new problems with the Xbox 360 losing video output. [64][65] The problems are characterized by a blank or staticky video output with a proper functioning audio output and no flashing red lights on the console. The complete video failure is sometimes preceded by other graphical glitches such as an irregular saturation of green and/or red colors. Threads on Xbox.com forums suggest the problem may be widespread. [66][67]

I had this exact problem. Tried taking it back to gamestop to see if they could fix it. They couldn't (no surprises there) and with no real options left i tried the cover it in a blanket and let the thing over heat trick. It actually worked. I still get green flickering once in a while, but that my just be my screen settings. If you haven't got a warranty on it and can't send it back to Microsoft, overheat the sucker, it worked for me, and it's not like it's not already broken if it doesn't work.
