Video Streaming

Is it true that you may only steam .wma files to your 360 from your PC using WMP11 with the video steam feature? If that is the case, what is a good convertor to convert .avi files and how long would it take on a 2800+64bit AMD processor?

Is there a better way to go around streaming videos from my PC to my TV? Is there a way to use the media centre option in my 360 without having it on my PC?

www.tversity.com you can stream all video formats to your 360 with this. make sure you have windows media player 11 installed, with sharing disabled (you only want it for the codecs it has), latest FFDshow for decoding/encoding your avi files and latest XVID codec. I find it works well. you can also stream mov, vob files, internet audio streams and internet video streams. you can also access your library across the internet if you wish from your mobile phone, psp etc.

 it works like media centre, but I think it works better, there is no delay when streaming mp3s whereas there was with media centre when I was testing all of them, including vista media centre. Transcoding of videos will have a slight delay before it starts as its converting the file on the fly so the 360 will play it. if you wish to stream in HD, I hope you have a beast of a pc, core2duo, 2GB ram atleast..
