Hey guys sorry to necro this thread, and I know everyone in this thread has said there is no way, but I had a bit of a situation earlier. I made a real bone-head mistake last night when I downloaded a couple songs off limewire that turned out to be trojans (both being the wimad trojan); I wasn't paying any attention to the details at the time so they slipped past unnoticed onto my USB. Fast forward to a hour or so ago, I decide to give Oblivion another go on my 360. As I'm playing I notice the frame rate has dropped down to an annoying level, and when my playlist reaches what I now know was a trojan my whole 360 freezes. turn off/ turn on. I try to play the song in the media player, and once again my 360 freezes. It is then that I pull the USB and scan my songs with AVG, and find the wimad trojans. Ofcourse they can't execute on my xbox in the first place and even if they did it is not connected to the internet anyways; however I'd still like some peace of mind that I haven't screwed up my console.

He asked about if the ps3 had an internet browser so i added a lil bit more.

I gave an opinion having actually owned both systems.

If some spaz sees it as anything other than an opinion then he himself wants a console war.

He already owns a 360 so why tell him what his **** can do.

tren

there is no virus for the xbox 360, it's not possible but they can break. o and tren it seems that you might be picking a fight on you new account, a level 2 with 15 posts. what happened to your first? did it get banned for trolling/spamming

well, I can definitely say that my 360 most likely has a virus, everytime i start it up it shows the xbox logo then the screen gets sort of pixelated and it just freezes and makes an awkward noise, and it started doing this when I was playing smackdown vs raw 2009 on live, it froze, turned black and never un froze, now I cant even get it to turn all the way on

Hey i was just looking this up and yes it is possible for your xbox 360 to get a virus. I got my ipod infected and then plugged it into my xbox and it infected that also. The virus name is taquito.exe. The virus opens a back door in the fire wall. O by me plugging my ipod into my xbox i voided my warrenty so im getting ready to pull the thing open and begin scanning it with AVG. A bit of background on this virus. It infects a host computer, then copies its self onto a MSD, like a flash-drive, or ipod. Then once you plug it into another computer, it will infect that one and so on and so forth.

Let me explain it to you. The drives are not able to handle the new disk format, so when it tries to flash the memory, it dies.

No, that sounds like he got E74. Its just a coincidence. I got the same thing when I got flashbanged in MW2 once, and I did not jump to the conclusion of getting a virus.

A virus is a small infectious agent that can replicate only inside the living cells of an organism. Viruses can infect all types of organisms, from animals and plants to bacteria and archaea. _________________________ Stair master

Virus mmmhh all the systems can be corrupted, but the ways are simple: developers' mistake with a glitch that allows to attack the console, a glitch in a patch or a simple attack from a collective into the servers that attach some "virus" but isn't going to happen also it is needed to review all the code to find a weak spot to attack in other words nah.

It could definitely be your HDD. Specially if you use external HDD.
