viva pinata question

Just a small question. Does anyone know how to getjackolantens on viva pinata? my friend has the game and has no idea how to get them. i thought it may have had something to do with pumpkins and a candle? i don't have the game yet but i said i'd try to find it for him. many thanks if someone could help.
