What are the chances of getting 3 red lights?

I purchased my Elite a couple of weeks ago. Two of my freinds who have had their 360's for over half a year now have had the 3 red lights, indicating a hardware malfunction. My question is, what are the chances of me getting a faulty 360? I'm realy concerned at the moment of the lifespan of my console.

You guys think this is a good setup to keep the 360 ventalated? It's on my desk at the moment.

the elite was made after the heating problem so no worries

I just got them. My 360 was made march 2006, purchased Sept 2006.

No that is a BAD setup. The top and back of the console have to be well ventilated. Make sure there is nothing behind the 360 like a wall (as in the picture). The side of the console (which is the top if you place it horizontally) has to be clear (the TV is too close to it).

its been predictead as HIGH as 33%. i doubt its that high, but its way above teh industry standard for hardware like this.

dont listen to the people in this thread who say the 360 is fixed.

the 65nm CPU was meant to reduce some of the heat and make the 360 much cheaper for MS to make.

the main problem of the RRoD is the GPU not the CPU. the GPU is still 90nm and killing itself.
