What Color LEDs should i use for my X B Y A BUTTONS?

Anybody elctronic savvy, that knows what would work best? white leds or the same color as the buttons yellow blue green red? fyi its just to make the buttons light it up?

White would work best because it's being projected through the coloured transparent plastic anyway and would appear more bright.
