what do you consider a decent gamer score?

i've got like 5100, and i went into this room in GRAW, and all these guys had like 10,000 and they were poking fun at me and booted me...because my gamer score was 'to low'..bunch of losers, but still, what do you consider low, average, good, and crazy!

I think around 10k is alright...I dont really give a damn what people's gamerscore is...I've had 360 since launch and mine is only 11,180...but that's due to me playing WoW for 2 years and ignoring my 360 almost altogether.

As long as the 360 has been out, I personally consider 10,000-ish to be decent.

But I would never kick a person from a game because of their gamer score. I look more at rep than gamerscore. You probably wouldn't have wanted to play with those folks anyway & people acting like asses is a pretty big problem online with GR:AW.

Ditto.

I've had my 360 for less than a year and have 15k (well, nearly). It also depends on how much you actually play, I'm between someone who's a harcore and casual gamer so I would say I play preety much every day.

I have 12,000 but I don't care. Gamerscore and achievements are meaningless and I have no idea why they were implemented in the first place. It just encourages boosting and annoying people in multiplayer matches going for weapon achievements or something.

Dont worry about your score, it doesnt matter. Its there only for fun, not to judge others.

Heck I only have around 5000 and have my 360 for about half a year. I still rent xbox games which dont even have achievements.

I'm almost at 5000 and growing fast, I love gamefly. Haha.

Really, I "accept" all gamerscores, i dont see high or low as a problem. the only thing I don't like is when people have cocky gamertags and have like 20 gamerscore (mrpwner and snipe pwnage ar 2 ive played)

I have 10,130 but most of mine were taken from sports games. But my favorite achievement is in Bioshock. The save every little sister achievement because I wanted to harvest their butts, but I held back and saved everyone instead.

it depends on how long you have had your 360. a decent score for someone who has had there 360 since day one is like 15,000 points. but that dosnt mean someone who has 1000 gamerscore isnt any less skilled in games. it also depend on the amount of games played.

I had my 360 since day 1, but my gamerscore is what you see on it, but I had been slow on my gamerscore, since i've been watching movies on it half the time. As for the decent gamerscore, I'd say 1000, really, especially if your just playing Gears, or Call of duty 2.

I really don't care aout the amount of points as a whole, but only if you compare on how many games he has HAS, like for example he has 10k out of 15 games, thats pretty good. But some ppl have 22k with like 60 games, thats just terrible imo...

sry bout the double post, but uhhh wtf are you talking about. gs points were so easy in the 2006 sports games and early 360 releases.achievments like get a first down, and scoring a touchdown in madden 06.if you've had it since the launch, then 20,000 isnt that big of a deal

hmmm how can i phrase this? im guessing your not an intellectual, due to the fact yiour using such a primative assualt on a large amount of people just cause thier superior to you, in probably every way (i say this due to your wording, not your gamerscore, which i cant see). im just tired of the no life insult people keep using trying to make themself feel better. i have a very active life thank you, and whats wiith the "no girlfriend", straight women play xbox too.

Gamerscore won't tell you how good someone is, just what they've managed to accomplish in a certain game. Some of the best people i've played with only have 2000-5000 because they are always playing one or two games online.

Another thing to consider is where they got their gamerpoints from.. Someone could only have 3000 points but have gotten ALL the achievements in games like Dead Rising, Guitar Hero 2, and Gears of War (with Seriously).. While you can find someone else who has 10,000 points while playing nothing but sports games. I would find the the 3000 guy more impressive than anything.

Personally I think a higher completeion % from games is more impressive than just a high gamerscore.

Yeah, that's just an ignorant thing to say about someone based off their gamerscore. I for one have over 20,000 points. I go to college full-time, work-out daily, and still manage to go out to weekends.. Oh yeah I have a girlfriend too. As im sure many other people who have 20,000 achievement points do too. 20,000 points isn't that hard to get.

I dont know about anyone else, but I play games for the fun of it, not to get my gamerscore higher. Anyone who would kick someone from an online game needs to remember that gamerscore does not make you better at video games, or bestow you with a bigger peen. (my gamerscore is around 1200, + 250 on my bro's account). I also have no sports games for the 360.

If someone boots you for having a low gamer score they should be slapped until they are unrecognizable, even to their mothers.;)

As for what is considered a decent gamer score, I would say 10,000 assuming you've had one since launch. It's really too hard to say because maybe you stick to a few games rather then playing a ton of different games, in which case you have less opportunities to earn more points, but that doesn't mean you play any less.

Ok I've had this discussion many times and have found the solution.

Look at how many games they've played and their score. Look at how long they've been on. Look to see if they are always playing mulitplayer or campaign. 20000+ is awesome for gamerscore. 10000+ is great. Everyone wants to be there. 5000 is good. Usually people have this have only had it for a shorter while than release fans or play limited games, or only live. People less than 5k are enjoying gaming recreationally and don't have to play everyday. Most people have less than 5k. Go to mygamercard.com to see how high it goes. I think around the top 1000 in the world have 40000+ but that may have changed. neway don't judge by just a gamerscore, anybody could be dominate in some games, just on a differnt profile or specialize in certain games. thats it my finger hurts.

By the way, my gamerscore is 11000 and I have had mine almost a year.

Well spoken nyc05, Gamerscore doesn't mean anything to me. Now, individual achievements that are hard are impressive but even then that's only if your the type of gamer that cares about them. If your like me and your really picky about what you play it will never soar. I sure as hell am not going to sit around playing a bunch of games I don't like to increase some number.

The guys that booted you are a**holes.

You also have to take into account how many games the person is playing and how much they care about each individual game. I'm not going to go for the full 1000 or 1000+ for a game that I sort of like, and i may not even go for the full amount in a game i absolutely love, Im the type of person to go after the hardest one and not care about the others.
