I would like to see what game is in my tray without having to start it up, like what we saw in the early builds of the dashboard.Aeronautical

As you all know the 360 gets a system upgrade every sping and every fall. These updates add new features to Xbox Live, the most significant of which, so far, has been the addition of the Xbox Live Vision Camera. Although these updates are far from bad (except maybe for the select few who supposedly had their systems ruined because of them), there are other things that are needed.

The things I would like added are:

  • An option to open the tray while there is a disc in it, instead of just playing the disk. Better for people sitting far away.
  • The ability to have a private chat with more than just two people, maybe 5 or 10?
  • Having the option to assign a different picture from your computer, disc, portable device etc. to each individual blade on the dashboard.
  • Full features of the Video Marketplace for Canadians, and Europeans (if they don't have it...not sure)
  • Being able to download multiple files from the Marketplace at the same time, with or without reduced download speed.
  • A 1440 x 900 screen resolution for people using monitors. Also the other one which I forget, I think it's 1660 or something like that.
  • Option to convert 16:10 image to 16:9 by adding black bars if monitor already doesn't support that. This is mainly so the image isn't stretched vertically, turing circles into ovals.
  • Adding the compatibility with the device that allows you to use a mouse and keyboard (assuming it's released soon)
  • A picture in picture option whereas you can go back to the main dashboard while watching a movie or video, but have it playing in a window where the advertisments would usually be.
  • Being able to set up a custom playlist of music from the music being stored on your harddrive.

I'm sure I will think of more, but those are the ones that first came to mind. Some of them will be more important to others, since we all have different needs. I, for one, use a monitor, so that's why I want a 1440 x 900 res.

So I'm wondering, what would you like in the next few updates?

well i was thinking the other day when you put in backward compad. games you can view your friends list or acess your music. in one of the updates they should allow you to chat with your friends even though your playing an xbox 1 game. basically just give the normal funcation that it would if you were playing a 360 game.

Features I'd like to see are: 1. Have a Xbox Live Marketplace tab where you can view a list of ALL 360 games that have pics & description of game, ratings from other Live users, and the ability to purchase game via Microsoft Points and then the game is shipped to you. Also, they can be sorted by release date, alphabetically, or rating. 2. Voice Chat Conferencing. It is a hassle when you and you're friends are trying to set up a game and you have to switch back and forth with whom you're talking too. Very cumbersome. I understand they don't want to do this because of bandwidth issues and they don't want lone players to enter a room where everyone is in a private chat, but there's got to be a way to work around it. 3. Ability to map what window you want the Guide button to start with. I, personally, would like it when I press my Guide button it would go straight to my Friends List, not just when a message is sent to me or someone "Wants to Play". 4. Instead of just downloading themes, how about having entirely new skins that change the way the how even the blades look. Maybe they can look like a chain, or swords, or wooden panels...whatever it may be, give us some variety. 5. Customizable tabs. Who else hates clicking on Xbox Live Marketplace, then Demos, then New Releases? It would be great if there were a few tabs that were left blank for you to put a whatever "shortcut" you wanted in there. Lets say you want a shortcut that goes straight do the Downloadable Demos. Or you want a tab that goes straight to a favorite XBLA game. 6. Native support for other video formats. I don't want to have to piggyback another program (tversity), working my computer as it encodes the video so that my 360 can stream it which also doesn't let me fast forward or rewind. Though, I'm thinking this might be due to a licensing issue with Quicktime, Divx, and all the other formats. I know there is other stuff that I'd like to list but I just can't think of them right now as I'm still at work. For the most part, this is the big stuff I'd like to see.

I like most of the suggestions in this thread. Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want the ability to remove games from my Played Games list. I want to delete the existence of rented games, trial games and demo discs from the list.

My only suggestion on top of your great suggestions would be a dashboard button mapping option for the controller so you could shortcut things you do frequently.  Yeah the menus are easy to use, but it would be nice to, for instance, press one button to start a private chat with a friend you talk to a lot.

I would like to have topics revolving around pgr3 and what you did in the game, and so you can talk about what challenge you raced in and what the amount of money that you got and how many credits that you got in the game and what your current credits actually are in your file and then you could talk about what you have and what cars that you have right now and how you all choose to race them in what background and what challenge that you can put them in buy choice and then you could say stuff like how your playing your x box 360 and then you can say how much you know about the game and then you can say how often you get to play your x box 360 and stuff like what time of the day that you could play the games that you always liked and so thats for all the people that need practice typing (including me lol :)) and then we can keep talking back and forth dose that sound fun to anyone here or what.
