cheat codes are still in a lot of games but games are easy enough now to where people don't need them. the advent of a save feature in pretty much any game pretty much made the need for cheats trivial.herbie12282
you could still post the cheats for people who want them though.
Some games have codes...but like Saints Row if you use one, you can't unlock the achievements anymore.format_kid
[QUOTE="DaFoO65"] sereously, i can only think of one or two games that have come out for the 360 that have actual codes... and i don't care about your stupid "cheat codes" that are only hints, tips, secrets, and lists of achievments! I WANT CHEAT CODES!Lachdanan0121
if you need the codes then you are no gamer, and just a poser, step up, and actually game to get better at gaming, cheating only shows how much you lack at a game.
thats very much false, first of all, cheat codes are a part of gamer history.everyone has a hilarious memory of using a cheat code, second of all i dont use cheats personally, untill a beat the game 100 percent but just because you may not be able to get past a part in a game, and they cheat, that doesnt mean theyre not a gamer.thats like saying because i cant drive a golf ball past 250 yards,im not a golfer.it may show you lack at a game, but theres nothing wrong with that, some people have problems solving a certain part at a game,so instead of just putting the game in a corner, and never playing it again, because they get so agitated with it,they use a cheat code.
Cheat codes are good for GTA games and nothing else.terdoo
Didn't need any cheat codes for GTA, especially for San Andreas. I bet on the horse track with only 200 bucks. I ended up with a mass total of 125,000,000. I could have certainly maxed out but it took too long to bet money than it did to watch the race.
I think programmers leave them out more often these days because of more frequent online play and the fact that data is stored in one big massing. Cheat codes could occassionally corrupt data, cause glitches, and general mayham even when not intended or designed to work in such a way.
Or at least that happened a lot last gen and the one before.
All I can say is that if a cheat code scrambled my hard drive data like a Denny's Grandslam I'd be pissed.

i do beleive i covered this in my second post so do read it. and cheating to beat a game you might as well not even said you beat it. because you havent. but it does add replay value just read my second post. thanks
well,i started typing this before your sec post was posted.......so yourrr welcome i guess.it does mean you beat it,it just means you had help at a certain part.i agree on the point that if you buy a game, and go straight to cheats yes that is a little "silly" and yes,you didnt beat it but if you only use cheats or hints when you truely need them and not just as an easy way out, then again what can you do.keep playing the game and keep loosing so you just get agrivated at the game, and just waste it by setting it aside?or using a cheat to get past that really really hard moment.
I've always hated cheat codes and I'm glad to see them die outsheepdogg23
That doesn't make sense. If you don't like them you don't use them. They are in no way forced on you.

i miss them to. I remember back in AOE2 where we would play online games with cheats on and just mass up on the cheat for a naked villager that was pretty much worthless. That was fun times. (No you didnt see anything btw)RocklandUSA
Haha, those were the days. "I don't know how to turn this on" was my personal favorite. Go Shelby Cobras vs. a castle lol. And infinite saboteurs? Totally awesome.
