when I first bought Halo 3 about a year ago, I didn't think much of it. I played it for awhile and nothing changed. but just yesterday me and 3 of my friends played some local multiplayer, and it was amazing! I'm not even sure what it was. but it was exhilirating! we played a match that went up to 150 kills, and I placed in second with 130 kills. I thought I would suck, but I ended up not being bad at all, and I completely owned two of my friends quite often. I'm actually looking forward to getting ODST more now!

so that's my story. what game did you not think much of at first, but once you played it again it totally blew you away?

I gave up on Mass Effect because I just couldn't get into it after the first hour or so. So I put it down for a while and actually sold it on Amazon. About 6 months later, I purchased it again, beat it, and loved every moment of it. I can't wait for ME2!

Oblivion. I never could get into it. I sold it, but then I played through fallout 3 and loved it. Since I was familiar with the game engine I decided to get it for the ps3 and give it another go. I am into it now and am having fun.

GTA4, I got it at launch, played it for a week, then put it down for a year.

Picked it up again recently and completed it along with TLAD.

assassins creed; i played it for maybe 10 minutes way back when it first arrived and promptly pushed it aside until a few months ago when i guess i went through achievement puberty and started becoming a full fledged achievement whore (still not gonna do the sports games where you just sim for achievements though) so i plugged it in again and it took me about 3 days to beat the story then went back and whored a few more achievements and i must say, crazy fantastic game, super good visuals, the combat system is utterly fantastic and the creativity of the story is enthralling in even it's worst moments, can't wait for AC:2

Mass Effect and Call of Duty 4 Loved Mass Effect when I gave it a second chance. Still thought the multiplayer in CoD4 was off my second time. I've always liked the campaign but there wasn't much replay value.

I basically gave up on playing multiplayer games for a long time. But yesterday I played GTA IV and Red Faction Guerilla's multiplayer modes, and I was hooked all day.

  • Call of duty 3
  • Condemned

I gave up on all three of these games at first but then I went back to them later.

I want to give Mass Effect a second chance... depends if I get ODST or not... I'm having fun enough with Halo 3 but my friend is getting ODST(we we're playing the metagame til 8am this morning to get the first level achievement) and he wants me to get it as well. So it depends, because I want to get into ME2 but I hear it's going to have a feature where your previous saves affect the new game or give some bonus items, IIRC...

I just rebought Halo 3. Never finished the campaign, so I'd like to see how the story ends. Even though I don't really remember what happened in the 2nd one.

Old game, but Jade Empire. I played the demo years ago and hated it. I picked it up last week for 5 bucks and have a totally different opinion. It's a great game.

Assassins Creed I got it the 1st week it came out and enjoyed it for the few 4-6 hours until it became too repitative for my liking but then I eventually pulled it out gave it a 2nd chance and beat it and although it was frustrating to do the same things over and over again it had a good story

Lost Planet Didn't like it much the first time I played it, and I hated the controls. Now I love it and the aiming feels nearly perfect.

Mass Effect, but that's a design flaw of the game. The first 5-10 hours are sort of off-putting and the combat's a drag until you get the hang of it.

Viva Pinata I played it for a little bit and thought it was fun but after around three hours of playing it I stopped because I had a lot of other games. After I beat those I came back to it and I must say it's a great game to just relax with.

I think I'll give Assassin's Creed and Gears of War 1 both another chance in the future. Always got distracted by other releases which interested me more (i.e. RPGs).

Assassin's Creed. I got so bored of it the first time. I tried it again, this time on the PC, got a little further and it was still as boring to me as it was the first time.

Condemened. I bought this game like 3 years ago and put it down a couple of times. Suddenly tore through one night last week. Not a favorite or anything though. I wish the same could be said for Mass Effect, GTA IV, and Assassin's Creed. I just can't get in these games no matter how many times I try them.

The Orange Box. I rented it awhile back and played a little bit of Half-Life 2 and a little bit of Team Fortress 2. I thought Half-Life was boring and Team Fortress wasn't anything special, but my friend bought the other day and let me play a game of Team Fortress and for some reason it completely blew me away. I don't know if it was the fact that I played Call of Duty too much, but it was just amazing to me! To make a long story short, I bought The Orange Box back and i'm completely addicted to it!

aww man i liked Dead Space right out the box! that game was everything a survival horror shouldve been (looking at you RE5) but my second chance game was perfect dark zero. i bought the game at launch and played it but couldnt get into it at all, then i bought it again about 3 months ago and had a BLAST with the game. im still trying to beat it though, theres this one part im completely stuck on but i enjoy the game a LOT more than i did when i got it the first time and i will NOT be trading it this time

[QUOTE="lawlessx"]bioshock...brought it last year Christmas and recently finished it one of the best games I've ever played this year

This!! I rented it a while back around the time of its release and I wasn't too crazy about it. I then bought it for like $15 at gamestop and still didn't have that much fun with the first few hours. I went back and played it after beating the orange box and fable 2, which I also bought that day, and I loved it! It's up there with my favorite games of all time.

Sorry for the double post, but I guess I can add Half Life 2 to that list. My PC couldn't run it very well, then I bought it for the original xbox and I just couldn't get into it. This time around, I LOVED it though. I played all the way through and played both episodes in about 4 days.

Not a 360 game, but I gave up on The Wind Waker when it told me I had to go around and scavenge for all the pieces of the triforce. I didn't come back to it until 2 years later. But I'm glad I did because it featured the best Ganon boss fight.

Bioshock. I really didnt get the hype when it first came out so I waited a long while before I ever bought it. When I first played it I was like "meh" and didnt even finish the first level but recently I picked it up again and I'm like loving it. Weird huh?

Assassin's Creed... My friend let me borrow it about 7 months ago when his 360 RRoD. I tried to play it the day he gave it to me, but couldn't even do that for 15 minutes... I tried it again a few days ago and it's better. It's just soo repetitive

Crackdown. A demo came out before the game was released, and I didn't like it (can't remember why). Because of the fact that I wanted to play the Halo 3 beta, I bought the game and decided to give the game a second try just for the hell of it. I ended up liking it because of the rooftop climbing.
