What game is gonna take over your life in 2008???

360- So many, but Left 4 Dead will take over later this year. And I'm hoping for Gears of war 2.

DS- I dunno, haven't bought a game for it in months.

PSP- The new God of War, I'm not even a big fan but it looks really good and it's portable.

Too many sweet games coming out to predict what will really steal my life!

And why does everyone assume GoW2 is coming out in 08? Its been barely over a year since the first one came out. The first one probably took 3 times as long as that to make. GoW2 will probably be late 09 at the least, gotta think realistically not on hopes and dreams.

Insomniac has always been good at pumping out sequels really fast though. Just look at the early days of the Spryo series they had a new one every year.

Good point and I agree it'll be worth the wait if they would lengthen the campaign :D .

Plus if Gears of War 2 was far enough into dev and was coming out in 08 you would think any info whatsoever would have been announced but none has at all, besides a confirmation its being made nothing has been said by anyone. And Microsoft would have had a media blitz with it as well hyping it up as their big 08 release.Ket87

You're probably right. I just think it COULD happen, but I agree it most likely won't hit until '09, otherwise I would have included it in my most anticipated games of '08 blog.

STAR WARS the FORCE UNLEASHED! that game looks amazing + it has a strong multiplayer. i cant wait.

Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit - ive been waiting for a next gen DBZ game for some time now.

UT3 - i hope it comes out soon.

That would be nice. Wake up have breakfast with friends, work out at the gym, come home and browse your HUGE video game library and rip through em. Take a break, eat some lunch, go out and shoot some hoops, hang out with girlfriend, come back home, rip through another game, have dinner with friends, go play some more. Hell, just do anything you darn please. Haha. But that is a distant dream, that wont happen this lifetime or any of my thousand lifetimes to come.

My choice would have to be Fable 2, as well. I hope it is everything that Fable was and didnt do.

GTA IV of course. also looking forward to Army of Two, Left 4 Dead, Bully, Res Evil 5 (probably 2009 though), Gears 2 (no idea when is supposed to come out, hopefully 2008).

Not necessarily true. Look at GTA IV with the slated April release and they have yet to release one gameplay footage. There's a slight possibility that GOW2 may come out December 2008. 1. You dont know how long they have been working on the game, the devs only let you know, what they want you to know, duh. 2. If they needed more time and had to push it to 2009, to make a better game, so be it. I would wait. We've waited this long already, right? There's like 20+ great titles coming out this year. Let's not lose ourselves over a release date.

Sigh, nothing will. This year is going to suck massively comapred to 2007. There's just not going to be a great ensemble of games that will be able to compare even close. We're going to be in a brief "game recession" this year. Its going to be an especially bad year for RPGs unfortunately. It feels like it takes longer and longer now to come out with good games than it has before. I mean, good lord, we still haven't come out with a game that can beat WOW started in 2004 in the MMO genre. 2008 will be a good year for sandbox games with GTA claiming its next-gen ground and the Wii continuing its momentum after a great SMG showing with Smash Brothers. But that's about it. Lame. I think Fable is going to get only an 8.0-8.5. The original wasn't that great and the whole concept of you can't die is just ridiculous. The developers think its innovative, but its just plain stupid as dying helps gamers drive a basic instict to want to play and survive making the rewards more fullfilling. No one is going to care about scars they have. In fact, I predict alot of players will die on person to get the scars because just like in Mass Effect many think its visual cool as it looks rugged. The game market is in need of a strong MMO that will truly suceed WOW right now. Its needed badly, not just for RPGers, but gamers in general. We're tired of expansion packs. We want innovation and a brand new concept for an MMO that will continue to drive bring massive socializing and gameplay together cohesively which the genre has the destiny of doing to majorly shape the game industry. wonderer

Dude, I have lost count on how many posts I've seen like yours. And just by reading your post, you have no clue. You haven't done your research obviously. There are so many great titles, exclusive or multi-plat. Hell, I'm still catching up with 2007 titles! I dont even have enough time to play the new ones coming out 2008. Lost Odyssey, Devil May Cry 4, Turok, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, Dark Sector, GTA IV, Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill 5, Alan Wake, Dead Space, Borderlands, Fable 2, Last Remnant, Infinite Discovery, Too Human, Fallout 3, Tiberium, Gears of War 2 (maybe, Maybe!), Rise of the Argonauts, Prototype, Bionic Commando, Fracture, Ninja Gaiden 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, The Precursors, Golden Axe, Ghostbusters, Brutal Legend, Dead Island, and many others. Now tell me there isnt any great titles in 2008. If you want an MMORPG just continue playing WOW, good luck with that. I played that for almost 2 years. It just sucks the life out of ya, leaving you with no life whatsoever. While you played that, you just missed out on so many great games. MMORPGs kinda break the game industry, reap all the profits, and feed you more content, leaving you trapped. I love my console systems. I dont need any more MMOs, EQ, WOW, hellgate "disaster" london, and so many I dont want to name. I think out of all of them, WOW is okay, but a big time waster now that I think of it.

Resident Evil 5 (this will probably be the first game that i gun for ALL the achievements and care about 'em, I am a RESIDENT EVIL, fan 4 life - except that i never beat/played Part 3, sob)

Grand Theft Auto IV (I'm currently playing the original Vice City so that when I finish this in time for GTA IV, i'd have beaten all the GTAs, i'm a huge fan of this series as well)

The Force Unleashed (the game looks beautiful, i'll take my time with this one, fo' sho!)

Smash Bros. Brawl (the first two are TIMELESS CLASSICS, and this one will be no different.)

King of Fighters anything (please SNK, bring out any KOF game this year, I need to play with Billy Kane!!!)

Halo 3 (for online multiplayer purposes)
