Just what the topic says. Any reason, single player campaign or multiplayer, whatever ever upset / let you down.
My award goes to ASS-ASSins Creed. Clunky Controls, repetitive game play, unrealistic game-play, bad story(Sci Fi crap) and it has the WORST first 2 hours of any game or AAA title ever!!!
And I am going to have to put Fallout 3 and Fable 2 on my list as well. i hated going through the same subway system over and over and over again in the city. Disliked VATS ( Camera, and easiness of fights) Wasn't an open world due to the subways. Fable 2 just let me down in really every way.
MuddVader
You realise that you have the capability to shoot without them in the game right, so than dont use the Vats maybe that would fix the problem?.. Also about difficulty, set the difficuly level at the hardest and wear regular clothes if you want alittle more of a challenge, though i have to admit thati just wear whatever and i still dont die much at all because of all the stimpaks i have.
Fable2 was great, though not as dramatically different from the first as was once thought it would be,I have to say that if anyone liked the first one, they would love the second because it was a super+ version of Fable1 if nothing else.
About AssassinsCreed.. Yeah, its got clunky controls if you have Re**** hands, I remember it controllingquite smoothly, though i do give you the part whereit doesget alittle repetative and i wouldlikedmore customization, the ability to play through the game with all your items, and asassination missions that werent main story associated that you could do on the side thatinclude tracking your target and so on.Whats unrealistic about it besides the climbing? You cleave a guy in the collar and he dies, seems realistic enough for me. Story wasnt fantastaculanificent, but it wasnt bad either.
Yes i know you can shoot them in the game without VATS, but wait it only takes 20 SHOTS! VATS is the main part of the combat, and it is what they want you to use. Really i can change the difficulty, thanks for that update skip. VATS is still the same though, still makes combat super easy and repetitive. Assassins creed have clunky controls and the amazing climbing everyone talks about is so hard to do. I push the LS up and he climbs! wow that's so visceral. And if i run the guards chase me, but if i walk slow i am completely normal. If i gallop on my horse I must be doing something bad, but if I walk slow i am innocent. The game was a mess. Good post though, really productive.
The Force Unleashed: good game with the exception of some camera control issues and a few bad boss fights; bringing down the Star Destroyer ruined the game since I spent a full hour getting nowhere, had to look online to figure out what I was doing wrong, and still spent another forty minutes to get it down
GOW 1 & 2: not huge disappointments since I had very low expectations of both, but I hated both games and only finished them because I could do coop and make fun of all the terrible stereotypes and dialogue
Medal of Honor Airborne: good game in many ways with fun missions, but it was full of bugs and glitches (like enemies sticking their guns through concrete walls to unload entire clips into me while staying completely behind cover) and the multi-player was very bland
Forza 2: I loved the first Forza, which is odd considering I'd never enjoyed any racing game before that, but Forza 2 was missing a lot of the balance of the first game. I was able to win cars for classes much higher than what I had unlocked instead of winning cars either for my class on one class higher, but then later in the game I was winning cars for classes I'd already beat, so it felt pointless. I could win almost any race easily with the AI turned to Easy regardless of the other difficulty settings, but I can rarely win a race with the AI on medium regardless of the other difficulty settings, so it is either boring or too frustrating to be enjoyable (yeah, I know I suck at racing games... as I said, I'd never enjoyed any racing game before the original Forza).
Far Cry 2: I love the campaign, and there is a lot to like in the multi-player modes, but I am very disappointed with how frustrating the multi-player is considering all the work they put into making a great map editor. It often takes ten minutes to get into a game, and then I get booted for no reason, or I'll get booted for a team kill when some moron on my team decides it's a good idea to run in front of my sniper rifle despite me being in a corner where there is no reason for him to need to get by me, or I'll get booted for outscoring the host or get booted for any number of other stupid reasons, and then I get none of my points from the match because I got booted. The host gets way too much power to get all the high ranked players on his own team, and hosting my own match has never worked regardless of how long I wait for players to join. They also needed to allow splitscreen multi-player with guests.
COD4: Only disappointed in the lack of splitscreen multi-player.
It is always disappointing when a game like Left 4 Dead or Halo 3 expects you to play 4 player coop but will only allow two players per console.
Even though I've never played them I was disappointed by Mercenaries 2 and The Godfather 2 because I really enjoyed the originals for both franchises, so much so that I had planned on buying both sequels. But then when the reviews came out, I could tell neither would live up to my expectations.

Assassins Creed - Crushing disappointment. (I will not buy the sequel)
Godfather 2 - I don't hate it...but it could have been great.
Afro Samurai - hated the split screen (not co-op) enemies, like Mark of Kri only crappy gameplay.
and many many more.
on the flip side Saints Row 2 turned out to have fun gameplay, I never would have guessed.
Cheers.

I'm sure I'd get some enjoyment our of Godfather 2, but I'm not about to spend $50-$60 on it when I'm still wanting games that came out last year. I'll have to wait and see how Mafia 2 turns out. Hopefully, that one lives up to it's predecessor.
GeoW was my biggest dissapointment. SP was fun and the graphics were excellent. I never enjoyed online at all. People were constantly quitting and that's when the online finally worked. I always want to buy an Unreal title and when I do I am always disappointed.
[QUOTE="INFAMOUSHAVOC"]thank u though i was the only that though that game was horrible no. well, i enjoyed for a certain amount of time but got bored pretty fast[QUOTE="Lord_Drax"]
Assassin's Creed = repetitive, repetitive and also very repetitive...
gow117
exactly certain amount of time
Fallout 3. There was so much hype. All I saw when I played it was a poor, bland story (I expect more from RPGs) and poor combat system (clunky melee attacks, V.A.T.S. was just another word for turnbased).
gta iv,,, they took out loads of stuff from san andreas , ,, planes customizable cars the ability to buy businesses/houses , gamble the multiplayer is so boring , free mode isnt actually free as you cant do what ever you want . go to strip clubs etc like in the sp game
they tried to far to copy driver paralel lines that their planes have foiled ,
another thing they fail to deliver a patch to stop people from using them glitches/cheats that put them inside the wall , ,
so you cant kill them but they can kill you in my book its considered tampering ;/cheating it ruins the experience for any one

I rented it. Wasnt sure about it at first either.TOO HUMAN!!! I mean come on, this game was developed for many many and it just turn out to be CRAP!!!! this game was one of the reazon why I bouhgt my xbox 360!!! what a shame!!!
gatoseco
theres TOO many things wrong with this post, first of all Too Human influenced you to buy a 360 ? not Gears of War, Halo 3, Fallout 3 BUT THE GAME EVERYBODY EXPECTED TO FAIL ? lol.
err.. i have read the first comment and i would like to say that: first of all after few hours assassins creed may be bore you yes you have to do same things over and over.but i will never add games like fable 2 and fallout 3to this list because yes fable 2 has some bugs soe massive bugs(like after i have come to nearly end of the game it stucked and didnt played with my char. again and never played again but the game is awesome at the same time its only its bugs i think) and fallout 3 is a great game and aso u can fast travel between subways(like at oblivion i didnt realise that until the half of the game LOL)...
and halo 3 is my first game at my 360 and i liked that game
and i loved too humman at first but after a while i hated that game i didnt finished it and i will never gonna finish it , also saints row 2 is a bad game it really bores after awhile doing same things.and so is dead space maybe some of you isnt going to agree with me at this point but that game is a total loss that game was so easy even at hardest difficult i didnt liked that game exept its costumes...(
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (not MP), Max Payne 2, Damnation, Halo, Rockstar Table Tennis.

Pandora Tomorrow was worse than Chaos Theory. Every foreign enemy was voiced by the same English speaking actor and the ending was soooo anticlimatic. How could you not love the original HALO?? I was disappointed in HALO 2's ending (wasn't everybody?) but it was still a good game overall.

I could really care less if you agree or disagree even though you mostly agreed i think, it was hard to really understand what you point was. and you can't fast travel the first time in Fallout 3 and that's enough to put me off. Rubble fell in just the right way all through the city so you had to use subways, that's not an open world. Halo 3 was your first game so you are kind of biased towards that. And i would love to watch you play through Dead Space on impossible mode, and just breeze through. i am calling BS on that statement.
I think they added the extra missions to the end of Fable 2 because people hated the end of Fable. You worked your but off the get the most powerful sword in Albion, only to have no more missions to use it in. By the time you get to the end of Fable 2, you have really powerful spells and a great sword, but unfortunately, the enemies aren't much of a challenge. I haven't forked over the points for the DLC yet. From what I read, they're too short and should be free.
Speaking of Fable 2. I thought it was BS that I would have to buy Fable Pub Games seperately in order to get all my Fable 2 achievements (and to win the Hat, Headband, Moustache game/expression and backflip trick for my dog.) I thought those would've been attainable by maxing out wins at one of the regular games.

HALO really came to life in the co-op mode, but played alone it seemed pretty lifeless to me. The combat system was unsatisfying and I've always found some of the aliens pretty silly.
Most people seem to favour Chaos Theory because of the MP, but as a SP experience it was really uninspired, repetitive and I can't remember anything that excited me about it apart from the improved physics and graphics. Loved Pandora Tomorrow, though. First mission was really atmospheric and challenging, and the quality of the level design remained high throughout. Israel level was a standout. As for the ending, I love how the Splinter Cell series doesn't end when you take out the head villain. There's always breakaway terrorist factions to mop up, and that's much more realistic than the world of espionage portrayed in MGS or Syphon Filter.
I'm usually quite aware of production values, but can't say the voice acting in Pandora bothered me.

at impossible mode u cant find enough ammo but at the other hand it is still easy if you know how to save your ammo and i didnt like that games story.and yes when you are first travelling to some where at fallout 3 u have to use subway.and if i play halo 3 again maybe i wont like that like i liked it first time(funny sentence).and i dont know what is bs(if u want u can call me noob.)MK vs DC: I expected this to be so much better but playing this after Street Fighter was probably a bad idea. I'll stick with MK2...
gta 4 pissed me off because it was a lot of driving around from point a to point b. I thought that having a bigger city would be cool... but nope. At least in the old ones the missions were closer together. Maybe if they would put some sort of... like in elder scrolls, a fast travel system that advances time realistically.
I also was dissapointed by command and conquer 3. REALLY REALLY unbalanced game. red alert 3 is much much better.
Lately; Halo 3 (360) The Orange Box (PS3) - love it on PC Kane and Lynch (PC) - yeah it doesn't even run at a stable frame rate on my quad core 3.0, 4GB RAM, GTX 260 Core 216.CellAnimation
you forgot to mention that kane and lynch is a terrible game
Too Human was a big let down.
Bionic Commando seems like its gonna be pretty awful, but I can only base it off the demo of course.
Mercenaries 2. Crap.
Fable 2, it was still great, but not at all what I was hoping for. So I was let down.
On a lighter note, Kung Fu Panda ended up being a great game. That was weird.
Mortal Kombat Armegeddon and Mortal Kombat vs. DC probably win for the most disapointment. Mortal Kombat was a series with so much potential. For some reason they decided to throw it all away with armegeddon. Armegedon was horrible. One of the worst fighting games i ever played. Then Midway couldn't even let the series rest in peace. They had to overkill it with Mortal Kombat vs. DC. MK vs. DC had a small selction of characters, really crappy fighting system and stupid minigames. The test your might, Klose Kombat, and Free Fallin' were only good the first time. After that i realized they were lame.
Runner Up: Guitar Hero World Tour
Guitar Hero 3 was an amazing game. It is probably the best music game (besides Rockband 2). I didn't think Neversoft could ruin such a great game. However they did. Guitar Hero 4 ruined the game. They should have left it as guitar (thus the name "Guitar Hero") However they were so greedy and felt it was neccessary to create a band. Also, the band gameplay was not as good as rock band. Guitar Hero World Tour was basically a rip off of Rock Band.
Dead Rising - Was hoping for GTA with zombies, I guess. The game was fun for its zombie killing, but I was highly disappointed by the time limit and that doing everything in game required multiple playthroughs. Even going for a save point could eat into your time available for rescues and what not. Really, this should have been an open world where you had plenty of time to go on zombie killing rampages in between doing missions here and there.
