Halo made me get an xbox, and xbox live among other things made me like it more than my other consoles. So i had to see what would be the next step for microsoft so it made my choice to get a 360, but seeing games like gears of war, pgr3 and call of duty 2 sealed the deal for me.
At the time, i was afraid to buy it because i thought they would base this console on Halo alone. I decided to take the risk and im glad i did, so many other great games have came out! The 1st game i got was Oblivion, and that game alot made me happy with my purchase
I am not sure if it was the advertising of Oblivion or what, but when I saw it, I thought I need a 360! So I went out and got one. T'was a true gem of a game and well worth it!
These days, I'd say the biggest thing that keeps me a 360 fan is XBL - its more addictive than crack
If I recall correctly, BioShock and Mass Effect were the two games that spurred me into feeling "must buy this" and there were enough other games that I thought looked fun that I decided to get it.
Well, I got it last year and planned on getting a PS3 for Rainbow Six Vegas but that never ended up being a launch title. I got a 360 instead and man was it a good choice.
Live and Halo initially. Then I got a 360 and realized that there were far better games than Halo that the xbox offered. (I had always been as ps2 owner).
i am a late-comer to this generation of consoles (blame WoW), but here is why i chose xbox 360
Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, GoW, Bioshock - to me, there was nothing parallel to these for ps3.
i am also pleasantly surprised by Forza 2, i am not normally a racing game fan, picked up a used copy for my wife, and i can't put that damn game down.
While it wasn't the be all end all like the original, Perfect Dark Zero made me get it, and then games like Dead Rising, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Saints Row and Lost Odyssey really made it worth it.
Eternal Sonata is what really peaked my interest in the 360. But Guitar Hero and Rock Band are what made decide actually get it, along with BioShock and Portal (with the Orange Box).
But now that I have it, there quite a bit I am looking forward too. And I like Live alot more than I ever thought I would have!
I'm a tech geek. I had wanted a HDTV for a couple years, but couldn't justify it. There just wasn't enough HD content. When MS announced that all games on the 360 would be HD, I knew it was time for a HDTV. That and the DirecTV HD DVR had come down to around $200 from its original $1,000.
So, I bought a 360 because I wanted to play HD games on my new HDTV. I got my 360 about 4 months after my HDTV.
I decided to trade in my PS3 and purchase a 360 elite mainly becuase of the much better online features and great exclusive games like Bioshock, Halo 3 and Gears of War (well not on PS3)
Call of Duty 2, I played it at my friend's house, and I was amazed at it, and knew that the 360 was what I was gonna get. It sucks that Treyarch had to go and deficate on the reason I got a 360.
The first reason I looked at the 360 was the endless delays in the PS3. Then while looking around at the 360 I noticed Condemned, then that was final I had to get a 360. I got Condemned with it as part of the bundle I went with.
The community aspect of Live and Oblivion. Love that game to death, I have to pick it up again (even though I will have to start over from the beginning... ugh.)
basicaly halo 3 was the reason for buying and was about to be a reason for selling it after a few months but cod 4 and bioshock and orange box have kept me happy, gears 2 is making me keep it as well plus fallout 3
at first i wasnt going to get one, i waited for an entire year. my friend got one for his birthday in the summer of 06 and he kept badgering me to get one. everyday, all day. i gave in and bought one in the january sales. I was waiting for the ps3 but sony screwed us.
A bunch of my friends have 360s and Halo, so we love to play over live. Also, Gears of War, Oblivion, Mass Effect, etc... There are plenty of great games that compelled me to buy a 360...
