Seriously, what happened to games like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 and 2? Or D&D Heroes?

In a gaming world full of mediocre shooters and action RPGs, I would do awful things for a really decent dungeon-crawl hack and slash RPG.

Sacred 2 might be a decent game, I haven't tried it yet, but I would most definitely buy a hack and slash RPG for the 360(or even the PS3) if they made one, and provided it looked good enough.

The most recent dungeon crawl I've played was Fate, but that's on PC. It's a decent game though.

I wish, but that probably isn't going to happen. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me, because wouldn't Blizzard want to make as much money as possible? There's no doubt almost everyone would buy it if it came out on the consoles.

Sacred 2 is actually fun. A lot of emphasis on loot and you'll spend hours trying to find whole sets of armor.

I heard the console version is much better than the PC. I ordered it off ebay for 15 bucks, so I can't wait to give it a try.

I think Bioware should make another Baldur's Gate, It would probably sell by the truck load, as long as they make it accessible for new players as well as veterans of the series.

Sacred 2 is the only good game of that type on consoles this gen, although it has framerate issues and the loot system itself isn't particularly compelling. But it's got a ton of variety and an overwhelming number of quests. My main complaint with the game is how awkward the menus are and how difficult it can be to manage and level up/upgrade your character, which is made worse by it not pausing the game when you do so. Also, it should totally have same-screen co-op, and it doesn't. Plus, it's buggy as hell. But it is fun.

It really is a shame there aren't one or two more in this genre.

I don't think it's really a niche crowd. Just an uninteresting one in terms of game stories.

Maybe I missed something you wrote but what's wrong with Dragon Age: Origins? That kinda sounds like precisely what you want. If that doesn't suffice, go buy Torchlight for PC for a great dungeon crawler. It's cheap and made by ex-blizzard employees.

DA:O is an action-RPG. Not a dungeon-crawler.

A dungeon-crawler is Torchlight, Diablo 1+2, Dark Alliance 1+2, D&D Heroes, etc.

Nothing is wrong with DA:O, I have it for the PC. But I want something on the console that has a co-operative campaign.

Torchlight is great as well, except it's on the PC.

I didn't like sacred 2 and sega is talking about making a new console phantasy star, I just hope they don't mess this up again. I hate universe!
