I don't think there are some that are specific for gaming, but if you buy a good name brand like Samsung or Sony then it should be great for everything. Look for high contrast ratios, good brightness levels, and plenty of connections on the back for component and HDMI.

Agree, any higher end (Panasonic, Sony, Samsung) with 1080p capability is your best bet. However, I do know that Samsung supposedly works best with the 360 because they "gear" their hardware/firmware to optimize 360 playback. I'm not saying anything else will be bad, but I do know that I definitely enjoy playing on my 46" Samsung 650-series over my buddies Panasonic 50" plasma.

Stick to LCD, get 1080p if you can, and buy a brand name like the ones that have been mentioned. (Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, Toshiba are all trustworthy).

The Sharp Aquos series are the best TV's available right now but the other brands mentioned are good too. As well as being an LCD, the important thing to look for in a tv for gaming is the Response Time, anything with 6ms and under and you're laughin. Anything on top of that is just gravy.

I'd recommend you get a nice LCD TV with VGA Input. I would recommend Samsung. Most new Samsung LCD TVs have a game mode which allow you to play with little input lag. If it's still bothering you just hook your XBOX360 into the VGA port and pipe audio into your speakers or headset.

I'd avoid getting a plasma mainly because of potenetial burn in issues and reduced lifetime.

I have been researching TVs for some time now. I have read tons of reveiws from A bunch of different sites. I have come to the conclusion that Samsung LCD TVs are very highly rated.I have A Sony 34 inch VVega CRT tv now,and its about 4 years old now.I now Want A 46 inch TV.Anyway from my extensive reseach I have done the TV that I suggest you get is the Samsung {LN46B750 46"1080p HD LCD 240 Hz TV}.This is the TV that I am now going to buy when I save enough money. So that is the TV that I suggest for anybody looking to get a new TV.

Newer model Plasmas no longer have issue with burn ins & have longer lifespan. Still not as long as LCD, but better picture makes up for it.

I would say go for a Plasma not an LCD, as the LCD's tend to have rubbish contrast ratio's. But saying that its down to your eyes and what you prefer, and to be honest you will only really see the difference in 1080p games if you have a large TV (prob 50-60 inch).

Yeah the newer Plasma's dont suffer as much as the older models. Another eason I go for the Plasma is that with an LCD if you look at the screen from an angle it seems to have a grey shade on it. A Plasma however looks great no matter what angle you view it from

I love how so many of you never Mention Sharp Aquos. I think 1 person did.

They are the #1 in LCD Technology, but sinse people look at the name and think "Stupid" they wave it off.

You will NOT get a better LCD than a Sharp Aquos 92 Series 1080P TV.

If you want Plasma get a Panasonic Viera

Its really just personal preference as to which one you like better.

I Prefere LCD over Plasma.

And don't let anyone tell you Burn in is an issue, Its not anymore. In-Fact its impossible to Burn in a Current LCD. Plasma can still do it, but an image would have to be on screen for literally an entire 24hrs.

I disagree, from my own research on LCD's and Plasma's burn is still an issue with BOTH. However I do agree with your point about the Panasonic Viera, prob the best Plasma next to the Pianeer Curo

You can't burn in an LCD. You can get pixels stuck. Oh, and I do really like those Sharp Aquos. I got a 1080p one last year and I am impressed with the quallity and all the settings and adjustments you can tweak.

That would be me, thanks for noticing and backing me up on that :D

I love my Sharp, best LCD TV i've ever had. It's only a 32" 1080i but I play at 720P and i'm more than thrilled with the picture I get with all my games.
