Is it just the campaign? are there any new maps for the multiplayer? I have all the maps downloaded for halo 3

If you already have all the maps, the only new content is the new campaign and the new "firefight" mode, which is like Horde mode in Gears 2. The disappointing thing about firefight mode is that it has no matchmaking, you can only play with friends.
^^^ What he said. ODST is really an expansion for HAlo 3 that was released as a full game for some reason. If you're after achievements though it does come with it's own complete set.
There's the new campaign, the Firefight mode, the Reach Beta, and I don't know if the Mythic maps are still exclusive to ODST, but if they are, those, too.
In the campaign and Firefight, mechanically, there are a few differences. The pistol's capable of sniping again (as in the original Halo), health doesn't recharge infinitely (you need health packs), anda few of the weapons have been changed.
if you have to ask that question then you shouldnt be getting the game. if you have done that little of your own research, i cant see a reason as to why you would want to spend money on a game you have absolutely no idea aboutchaoscougar1
wth??? OOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

This provides more information than you had about the game, try to do a minute bit of research before making a thread

He's done some research and was just unclear about whether any new maps were present other than those listed. He said above he's seen screenshots that don't seem to match the content he has. He obviously has the Halo 3 and all DLC and doesn't want to fork out good money if there aren't any new multiplayer maps he doesn't already have (or duplicates of what he's already bought). He's just seeking clarification from the community rather than marketing sites. No need to harass him for asking a question. There are plenty worse threads than this on the site!

asking what the main difference between two games is, is not clarificationIs it just the campaign? are there any new maps for the multiplayer? I have all the maps downloaded for halo 3

Okay well I have both Halo 3 and Halo ODST.
Firstly Halo ODST does host a new main character and a story plot that you won't be familiar with, you play as an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) a rookie without a name. You're dropped down on Mombassa during the time frame between Halo 2 and Halo 3 (After Master Chief followed the Prophets vessel through the jump gate {Don't quote me on the naming of the transportation names} to the pwnage of all the covenant) However it is slightly stealth oriented if you can pull it off during the nights, the main missions play as usual (Minus the slight control change, which I cannot recall off the top of my head thanks to the sudden switch of Reach's Control Scheme).
Well the main story is rather fun once you get going in it, however running from point A to point B during the city mid-mission intermission gets a little boring from time to time but overall the story is quite fun, though it is rather lack luster in the difficulty seeing as I was able to beat the campaign on Legendary by myself without any hassle.
Bring a friend and it will be fun.
