I would have to say mine is kameo, or civilization revolution

People either love hack n slash or considering incredibly boring and tedious. I read it's fun at first but then the missions and combat become more of a chore than fun.Is that viking game any good? One of the many games I have purchased but yet to play-

Is Bioshock considered a sleeper hit? If so, Bioshock is my favorite. However, if you don't consider Bioshock a "sleeper hit" I would pick Civilization: Revolution.
Left 4 Dead....it's underrated and got little hype when released. KC_HokieI don't think L4D is a sleeper hit. First of all, it had plenty of hype proceeding it's release, and second, it is still one of the most popular games on Xbox LIVE. I don't think L4D qualifies.

For a game that received several game of the year awards it had little hype and mainly very good, but not great reviews from critics. I can't think of a game for the Xbox 360 that snuck up on me more than Left 4 Dead.
Bioshock was heavily marketed, had a great demo, and was instantly embraced by critics.....far from a sleeper. Is Bioshock considered a sleeper hit? If so, Bioshock is my favorite. However, if you don't consider Bioshock a "sleeper hit" I would pick Civilization: Revolution.

MUA. Doesn't get the credit it deservesSoAmazingBaby
Agreed. It didnt seem like people properly embraced it.
Civilization: Revolution.
only played the demo. but that game was awsome
Agreed - the demo really sold me on that game. I thought I would try it to see how it compared to the PC versions I was familiar with, but Civ Rev turned out to be great fun in its own right. Too Human was also a lot of fun, but given the large build up prior to release, the amount of hype and pre-release news from Silicon Knights, and then the bashing the demo got and the reviews, I wouldn't have called it a sleeper title. Everyone was aware of it, just fairly few people bought it after the hammering it got in the reviews. Bladestorm is another game I had great fun on the demo, but despite looking in lots of stores I can never find a copy of it to buy. There are a few up on ebay, but still at quite a high price despite the game being around 2 years old.[QUOTE="Hickamie14"]Bioshock was heavily marketed, had a great demo, and was instantly embraced by critics.....far from a sleeper. Game demo's don't prevent games from being a sleeper hit, and neither do critic ratings. However, I think you're right about Bioshock not being a "sleeper hit". Also, I thought L4D was over-hyped. You couldn't get away from that game for the month leading up to it's release--definitely not a sleeper hit, nothing from Valve ever is.Is Bioshock considered a sleeper hit? Last Remnant. Definitely a fun game and could have been a decent hit if Square had actually taken the time to optimize the Unreal 3 engine for the game.
I would consider Dead Space an absolute hit.
As for sleepers, I would also agree on The Darkness and Dark Sector. Cheap $$$ but time well spent.
I may have to check out Viking and Too Human.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It didn't get much hype and was only medicore when it came to reviews but I thought it was an amazing use of the license.

I think that MUA was really an acquired taste with its presentation. I, for one, loved it as I was always interested in the Marvel universe. A sleeper hit? Probably not... but an underappreciated title, I would very much say so.
Honestly, I don't think that Condemned got its fair shake when it first came out.
A sleeper hit is something that no one expected to be good, or that no one was anticipating. It doesn't matter about the reviews, but it's the lack of marketing and publicity that make it a sleeper. A lot of the games mentioned aren't sleepers; L4D, Bioshock, Too Human... no matter what the reviews were, there were a large portion of people anticipating these games.
As many people have already said The Darkness. Everyone who has played that game knows it's amazing. The balance between your powers, guns, and darklings is amazing and it has one of the best told stories, and voice acting to go along with it, that I've seen.
