Honestly, the choice I've made (and it was difficult) had a lot to do with my lifestyle. I've adopted a more practical and minimalist approach when it comes to video gaming (and movie/music collections). The past generations, I've found myself being back logged by so many games, I realized I was never going to either play them or finish them in a generation setting or beyond or even my entire life time. I just have so many interest in life outside of gaming, my job schedule, relationships with friends/family/girlfriends, other hobbies such as cooking, traveling, bike riding, hiking, screenwriting and surfing at the beach, etc, all come into play. I'd be lying to myself if I say I've given up on video games forever, a hobby I've enjoyed since 5 years old. Far from it, actually.
I chose to have just one console and the X1 is my preferred choice for many reasons:
Better Online infrastructure, better controller, and most of X1 exclusives interest me (I'm not a PC gamer). It has strong 3rd party support and I'm pretty much covered in many genres from Digital games to Indie. B/C for 360 games is a plus to me because I like to keep my entertainment center space at a minimal. My 360 Elite is finally kept in a plastic storage sterilite box. I went with just ONE console because to me it clearly made sense not just from my Minimalist lifestyle, but also from an investment and value perspective. I realize, gaming on just one console would allow me to fully invest into it and give me that full value gaming experience. I feel there are many games in the Xbox ecosystem, more than enough, really, to keep me satisfied in the long run. Basically, to get the most out of it.
Overall, I feel in my opinion, the X1 is a very well rounded console. I'm also a huge Xbox console fan, I have all 3 from past generations. I've always felt the Xbox consoles, for the most part, has provide me the Western Centric games I like.
Peace and Love. One Life, Live It.
