Whats new in GTA 4...as opposed to san andreas

what does gta 4 bring to the table that san andreas doesnt?

is there any thing thats truely new or revolutionary besides the new graphics engine?

i always wanted gta to have more of a godfatherish feel to it but it always ends up feeling like a scarface on crack if you know what i mean.

SA was huge but im getting bored with it.

so can anyone tell me the differences besides the obvious..new engine, new leading character, new storyline etc..

any major gameplay changes?

The whole physics engine is revamped. Whole game feels completely different to San Andreas. Whereas San Andreas was really fast paced and crazy, GTAIV is slower and alot more realistic.Hotwire246

edit: btw i just finished GTA 4 last week for the first time (ive had it since release day) and i like it alot but it think it only deserved a 9!!! and ive just recently started EFLC

Alot of people didnt like GTAIV becase it was too different from the ps2 generation GTA's. Granted, GTAIV is brilliant, it isnt as good, but then again when I go back to the old GTA games, I usually get bored fairly quickly.

GTAIV is a great game and should be played by everyone, just dont expect it to be as compelling as it thinks it is

GTA4 has better graphics and repetative gameplay with minimum customizations and not much to do with the money you earn. thats whats different
