It allows for audio and video to be transmitted in a single wire. So it's got a lot to do with ease. It also incorporates HDCP so movie makers love it. :) Video quality wise it's no better than component..Raz0redge
Dvi and HDMI are the exact same thing it's just HDMI carries sound. When your using a pure digital signal like HDMI or Dvi and a 1080p projector like the Sony VW50 (The one I own) and a 150 Inch projector screen there is a dramatic difference, on my 32 inch in the living room however Hdmi still produces a better signal but not a whole lot different from the component. This is false from being a serious geek testing out many televisions I can prove HDMI/Dvi have a overall better picture then component/VGA.
