I like some of "Ash" "dragonforce" and alot of other tracks from the guitar hero games. Insane guitar solos just get me pumped. "the offspring" "system of a down" those kinds of stuff

In-game music turns off when you use the blade for music..
And I consider myself a purist too, but with games like Burnout Paradise where the best track is literally Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne, I need my own music.
I dont listen to music when i play games. i like to listen to the sound effects. (imo) you can hear things going on better. I even turn off the Game music if there is an option to just bc i like more sound effects then i do music.
everybody has their favs. I personally like music that gets me pumped up like almost any song by the hives and even that one orchestra song from lord of the rings
it depends on the game and if i have already done that mission/chapter before and just wanna replay it for fun, i tend to play some rock for most of my games. Just recently i was reaplaying missions from Ace Combat 6 and i plugged up my zune and listened to some Guns n Roses with some Iron Maiden :)
Guns n' Roses,In Flames,Soil,Sonic Syndicate,Metallica,Trivium,AC/DC,The doors,Alien Ant Farm,Anthrax,Breaking Benjamin,Kalmah,Three Days Grace,Black Sabbath,Queen...just a few of the top of my head.
Bach, Mozart, etc. no just kidding :lol:, i usually play guitar hero so i listen to the in-game music. when im playing something else i still just listen to in-game music
