Its a chord that allows your 360 to play PS3 games.

I have one and it works great.

HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface. It combines a digital image and digital sound into a single cord. Not only that both picture and sound only require one plug (unlike component which requires 4).

Its also capable of carrying a digital signal up to 1080P at higher bandwiths than any other cables that are out. On the sound side it supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio streams.

Because the singal is digital most experts agree it is uneccessary to buy the $50 - $100 version of this cable (My cable cost $15 and it works perfectly).

The biggest issue with HDMI is it allows a better enforcement of copyright protection High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), so for people that are pirating movies etc. this will put a crimp in their style.

In regards to the XBox 360, it is the best interface around. It allows for full upscaling to 1080P, watching HD-DVD's in 1080P with the best sound quality possible, and gaming in 1080P (native or upscaled). True the VGA cable offers the better picture resolutions, but the quality is not near as good (washed out colors, analog signal), but in addition the VGA cable doesn't bring sound.
