I'm surprised by the number of people here saying they welcome this change or don't care. I have a Wii and I have a 360. I don't need a Wii60. I love the dashboard as it is and this whole bubbly, kiddy cartoon dashboard is disgusting. I hope you have the option to keep the current dashboard, but I doubt that will happen. God damnit Microsoft.
I was actually quite impressed with the new dashboard overall, minus the avatars. I really don't get those things. Since launch, Microsoft has been leading the way with innovation for this generation. But these avatars are obviously nothing more than a retaliation to Miis and Home.
Im not to crazy about it. They had a good setup IMO and i dont know why there messing with it. I just hope you have the option between the new and old layout. O well though its not bad i just hope you dont have to have an avatar.
I liked everything they are trying to do except with avatars... I hate the way they look. I hope you can at least use something cool.. like characters from games as your avatar or no avatar at all.
So now they're taking away the ability to apply any kind of wallpaper you want as a background and ****ing over anyone who spent money on themes or gamerpics, and instead giving us mii ripoffs-this is ****ing ridiculous. And people are happy about this?unkling
They said all the gamerpics and themes would still work with the new dashboard.
The only thing I care to know about the new dashboard at this point is how fast it is. The current dashboard is ****ing slow. Displaying our Arcade games? ****ing slow. Populating the hard drive content list? ****ing slow. The Marketplace? ****ing slow (even though I can download an entire HD movie from the Video Store in about an hour). There's no excuse for it and it irritates me (if you couldn't tell :P).
Awesome,Amazing and change is good because people will never know what they want if they changed abit other people will say oww i was looking forward to a more BIGGER change , if the changed it all other people will saw oww i dont want a THAT big change so yeah overall i am happy with this change and it feels like you bought a new system even though the avatars are abit childesh maybe you could do something to customize your avatar into a bad-a55 looking dude:P if it is bothering you that much ,on top of that all you could still swtich to your old dashboard so nothing happend here.....i dont see why people making a big fuss about it all.

I want menus that I can actually read, ones that tell me everything I need to know about my friends at the moment, whether they're playing a game or watching a movie or offline
I don't want to have a screen cluttered with these stupid looking fake people who I have to select in order to see anything about that friend
Normal people like me, who CHOSE the straight up interface of the 360 over the Wii because I prefer funcionality over aestetic, should have the option of keeping the old dashboard we know and love
(I am excited about the more-than-two way chat though. At least they did ONE thing I wanted)

I seem to be in agreeance with most others. I do like the look, (I love the blades), but personally dont want an avatar. I want my gaming pictures! Hopefully it will be used in it somehow. Also I just wonder if themes would still be used, I mean i cant see MS doing away with them, but who knows. Considering they are the personal touch, id image them still there, I hope!

I dont like the new design of the 360 interface, I think they made it look too confusing rather than simplifing it. Also the whole Netflix thing looks kinda iffy to me. Like you DO have to have a Netflix account in order to "rent" movies on your 360 right?
Also I really really hope that they let you download the movies instead of streaming them, because my internet wont be able to keep up with that, and the whole experiance of trying to watch a movie thats being streamed on my console will just suck ass.
Think I'll keep it simple and go rent a movie at the video store....

Yes, you need a netflix account to stream movies just like you can on your PC.
I like the downloading movies to rent them style of the video store too.
Its ok looking in all. I hate the avatars though, i hope to gtod there is a choice to turn that off heh. It such a random crap idea to me that doesn't have a point and is useless.
