Not just that, but for uses on webpages and such as well. It's basically Microsoft's answer to Flash.
Does anyone know the time frame. Also, is there going tobe any ground breaking showings? Because I dont want to stay up too late for nothing.dojodawg
I don't know but I'm sure you will be able to find a recap of his keynote tomorrow if you don't want to stay up late.

Yeah the Warner announcment may de-rail the new Xbox 360 with HD-DVD. I personally like Blu-Ray and think that an HD-DVD drive would be a waste of money to put into the Xbox 360

yeah it's funny also that Toshiba payed money to have ever bag handed out at CES 08 have "HD-DVD" stamped on it.

I seriously hope it isn't for Microsoft's sake. The last thing they want to do is pump yet another version of the 360. Not only another version but a more expensive version. Microsoft should take advantage of the fact that the 360 is cheaper than the PS3 rather tha working in reverse and releasing ever more expensive versions of their console.
And yes especially after Warner Brothers has just announced they're moving to Blu-Ray exclusive. It would be incredibly embarrasing.

Toshiba is running out of time, and they have to start thinking of something to get back into the game because Blu-Ray is pulling away

They should just give up now instead of blowing more money into something that's going to fail in the end.
Well lets see Sony has Major film companies, makes laptops, tvs and Toshiba has Microsoft and well not much else
Not that I like either format but I hope MS won't commit to HD-DVD this late
Relived
HD-DVD will be obsolete soon and be abandon by ever company and film companies. Microsoft will realize this and switch to Blu-Ray next gen. Microsoft said recently there are no plans for the Ultimate 360. They said the idea of buying a external HD-DVD drive is up to the user and they can choose if they want it.

Microsoft already has the HD-DVD player for the 360 that you can buy separately, but I remember Microsoftsaying that they would go over to Blu-Ray if it looked like HD-DVD was going to lose

At this point, I'm glad they let us choose, but if MS had manufactured the 360 w/ HD-DVD included Toshiba might be doing better although I think the 360 wouldn't be selling as well either. So in the end I guess it wouldn't have mattered

Yep, just like PS3. Sony's doing really with Blu-ray, but because of that, the PS3 is suffering... for now. Once everybody gets their HDTVs, though, I think people will say, "Hm... would I rather spend $300 on a stand alone Blu-ray player, or should I spend the extra $100 and basically get a media center, gaming console, and Blu-ray player all bundled as one?"
I have a feeling that Blu-ray could do for PS3 what DVD did for PS2.
Though this is not System Wars, so I think I'll shut up now. :P
I hope they say something about games on the Zune.limpbizkit818
If the do bring games to Zune, I hope it's an actual handheld gaming system, ala PSP, not just have crappy iPod like games for it.

Bummer... :P
