when will the actual halo 4 come out!!!

1. A prequel can be the next installment in a numbered series

2. When people think of a Halo 4 I think they're thinking of another game with Master Chief that takes place AFTER 3 and I just don't think that's going to happen. I don't think Halo is going to die without Bungie, but I don't think it's going to reach it's same level of following.

now now. let's not say things we may regret later. bungie isn't as bad as george lucas. they actually care about advancing a story not just prettier effects (a la michael bay). now if spielberg gets his greasy hands on halo, he'll destroy it with the helpo of george lucas like they did with indiana jones.

I guess, technically, they ARE Metal Gear 8 and 9, considering Metal Gear Solid is simply a sub-series in the Metal Gear franchise.

right. but that's exactly what halo wars, halo 3: odst and halo: reach are. games that deal with different characters with different stories and different settings. the only thing they all share in common is the name halo.

there's just one problem with that theory. the events of marathon take place 200 years after the events of the first halo. if anything, it could follow the events of ghosts of onyx, but you won't play as the chief.

they will not only oversee the franchise, they will be responsible for making the games.
