I got mine and my brothers for free from Mountain Dew at every10minutes.com.  We had so many caps, and we only drank 10 of the sweet several hunderd. We  flooded (2) 10 min time slots and that is how we EACH won a Premium 360. We got them the Saturday before anyone could buy them on Tuesday in the stores. MOUNTAIN DEW IS THE GREEN DRINK OF CHOICE!!!!Â
I got mine from Mountain Dew...and unlike the other guy who won by having hundreds of caps, I only entered like 37, and the slot that I won, I had only entered one. However, I would recommend a game store, like EB/ Gamestop or GameCrazy. You can get one pretty much anywhere, but like Walmart, you usually see the "How May I Help You" on the backs of blue vests as people turn to avoid you. So long as you know what you're looking for, store service is really a non-issue.
I bought mines off Ebay for $345. A premium pack that came with Dead Rising and Saints Row. I got a good bargain. Had mines for a month. No problems yet.
Got mine on Launch Day from Gamestop. I reserved mine like 6 months before they launched, which was perfect because I was told had I done it a month later I wouldn't have gotten it.
Best buy. The PRP is great cuz if mine breaks any time in 2 years, replace it for free with the newest model. Can anyone say black xbox? jk i have morals.
I bought mine from eb games. I'd buy it from either eb games/gamestop or best buy with the extended warranty. They've both got very good extended warranty plans.
Although my answer won't matter because i live in England and you live in the U.S,it was Tesco's,and if anyone from the UK is reading this i highly recommend them as if your 360 stops working or the controller ect bring it in to them and the will exchange it right away,no question asked,that is the good thing about buying game related stuff from supermarkets,because parents/grandparents use them all the time they seem to be more generous towards you,unlike GAME or Game station which becomes a real hassle to take stuff back.
Uk launch, game.net..... broke in febuary got it fixed in a week...... it then broke in november and have phoned microsoft 7 times and its still broken lol..... so i have sent it to dundee in scotland am up around glasgow. and i got an email saying they have got it..... SO THE 360 IS GOOD IT'S MICROSOFT THAT ARE BAD!!!!!!! LOL
