I hope this isn't one of those questions that gets asked every other day, but I'm wondering: Where do most people buy Video Games?

Also, why? Price? Frequent deals? Wide selection? Loyalty?

I buy from whoever gives the best deal. Whether it be amazon credit bonus, or gamestop's trade in deals. I also trade a lot of games online with other gamers.

I make all of my pre-orders from Gamestop and then make a bunch of impulse buys while I'm talking to the cashiers. That place can be as bad as Steam sometimes.

EB Games. Its easy shopping, they have the largest selection of everything a gamer wants, games, accessories, old and new. That sounds like im advertising for them but I thought I'd give a reason.Being able to trade in games have been usefull at times too.

I don't like stealing from devs so I make sure the money goes to them

I do all my shopping on Amazon really, it's just so much easier and I get so much money back for new releases

eBay typically. Once in a while Gamestop for midnight launch titles that I must-have. Amazon.com as well but not as often as I would like. Lately, I've gone the way of digital downloads for my most recent purchases - Medal of Honor and Battlefield Bad Company 2. Although I HIGHLY prefer physical copies, the prices on those were too good to pass up and I saved A LOT of money so I couldn't pass it up. I just print out the box art from websites like VGBoxArt and stick it in a PC DVD case. :D

Online a lot. Just bought a bunch of rare GBA games (mario vs dk, mario and luigi, etc). When I buy them in person, I usually shop wherever is the cheapest, though Ive stopped shopping at Gamestop almost completely. They finally tried selling me an open game as a new copy which was just, after hearing stories, a bad sign and really bad business practice. Not sure why they would do that - makes no storage sense. The only time I will shop there is for used games on DS.

No as in "YOU are the problem"

Buying from there does nothing to help keep the industry alive meaning that if you buy your games from those places you are killing the industry

If I'm getting some huge box with the game and there's a midnight launch(Reach legendary, midnight launch), then I'll go to Gamestop. But other than that, I buy off of amazon.

Mainly, Best Buy or Gamestop. Sometimes Wal-Mart or Target if there's someone actually working the electronics department. Trying to get someone to go to the electronics department in those stores is like pulling teeth.

i'vebeen preordering from amazon alot lately cuz the offers they give like 20$ towards your next video game purchase. way better deal than eb games. plus i get free release date shipping, so that makes up for it being online.
