I'm looking to get an Xbox 360 in the upcoming weeks and i'm going to buy a pro.
The pro now has an HDMI port like the elite (but HDMI no cables) and as you said the hardrive is 20GB as opposed to 120GB on the elite.
Generally i'd get the pro because the difference with the elite is somewhat minimal...
Well obviously, the Elite IS the best. But the Pro isn't very far behind, plus it's cheaper. But the clencher is that I've played both, and the Elite is EXTREMELY smooth, no matter what it's doing. The Pro has lots of lag-like quirks. The Pro is cheaper and pretty much the same graphically, but the Elite's interfaces are much smoother. You choose.Arkaha
Yea this is true with the older models of the PR0. The newer ones I have played in person the XMB seems to work very well even in online play. Very smooth. DEff get the elite if you can th...but the pro is awsome
You can't really compare all the systems for "Which is better" because it is pretty obvious. But if you are on a budget just go for the normal system it's fine for me on a 37" HD LCD TV. Unless your a picky freak or have a very very large music collection and many blank disks to put them onto, the Elite HDD is of little too no use. If I was you, I would just get the normal system and buy GTA 4 or COD 4 or somthing, but in the end it is up too you. Hope this helps.

It's all the same hardware.

What are they? Different models with slightly new features i suppose...
I've had 5 pros and one core that all broke down in matters of months now I have an elite and its fine. This is # 7.Ares360
That's not an encouraging sign... I'm going to buy a Pro in a few weeks...

I don't buy that for a second unless you have been coving all of their vents with duct tape or something and then playing in 5 hour stretches. If you give your console breathing room, it will most likely be just fine. I have had a Pro since fall of 2006. I stand it upright with plenty of air space around it. I have played some 4 hour gaming sessions and never experienced so much as a skip or freeze. I would, however, recommend the elite if you can afford it, for the larger HDD. Mine is getting pretty full and MS charges INSANE prices to upgrade to the 120 ($179.99).

The highest level one you can afford is the best. The Elite gives you the best "value" as the packaged in goodies if you added them to the Premium would cost more than an Elite - however there really isn't much difference between the Premium and the Elite anymore - other than Hard Drive size.
Again though - the biggest you can afford is the best.
