I know the Elite is supposed to be the best but I don't see how it is because I can see nothing wrong with the pro console only the size of the hard drive. I have ruled out the arcade console because of the size of the hard drive and the certain accessories that come with it. And I was wondering if anyone thought they knew what the best type of 360 there was. So please post your comments here to help me decide which one I should get.

Well obviously, the Elite IS the best. But the Pro isn't very far behind, plus it's cheaper. But the clencher is that I've played both, and the Elite is EXTREMELY smooth, no matter what it's doing. The Pro has lots of lag-like quirks. The Pro is cheaper and pretty much the same graphically, but the Elite's interfaces are much smoother. You choose.

I'm looking to get an Xbox 360 in the upcoming weeks and i'm going to buy a pro.

The pro now has an HDMI port like the elite (but HDMI no cables) and as you said the hardrive is 20GB as opposed to 120GB on the elite.

Generally i'd get the pro because the difference with the elite is somewhat minimal...

Yea this is true with the older models of the PR0. The newer ones I have played in person the XMB seems to work very well even in online play. Very smooth. DEff get the elite if you can th...but the pro is awsome

The elite is better, but if you don't have the money and your not to bothered about having a massive memory, just stick with the normal 360

If I had the choice when I was buying, I'd have bought the Elite. I bought mine right after launch, so there was no such thing then.

You can't really compare all the systems for "Which is better" because it is pretty obvious. But if you are on a budget just go for the normal system it's fine for me on a 37" HD LCD TV. Unless your a picky freak or have a very very large music collection and many blank disks to put them onto, the Elite HDD is of little too no use. If I was you, I would just get the normal system and buy GTA 4 or COD 4 or somthing, but in the end it is up too you. Hope this helps.

20GB is more then enough, I've had the Premium (known as the Pro) since Januari 2006 and I've always have had enough room on my HDD. I always have up to 10 demos and lots of DLC (incl. OBlivion's huge expansion) on my HDD and I stil have 1 or 2 GB left. So only if you download HD movies (and lots of them) then youll need an elite.

The graphics are no different whatsoever. It's all the same hardware.

That's not an encouraging sign... I'm going to buy a Pro in a few weeks...

I don't buy that for a second unless you have been coving all of their vents with duct tape or something and then playing in 5 hour stretches. If you give your console breathing room, it will most likely be just fine. I have had a Pro since fall of 2006. I stand it upright with plenty of air space around it. I have played some 4 hour gaming sessions and never experienced so much as a skip or freeze. I would, however, recommend the elite if you can afford it, for the larger HDD. Mine is getting pretty full and MS charges INSANE prices to upgrade to the 120 ($179.99).

i've had the pro since june 06 and she's still working fine. I've gotten both the three red lights of death, and the four red lights of stupidity many times but it comes back to life. Like with all versions of xboxeseses you just gotta let it breath. Thats how mine has survived the 18 hour stress tests i put her through to get the 5 and 7 day survivor achievements for dead rising, wiht a few cod 4 marathons mixed in. Anyway like everybodys been saying if you got the money go for the elite, but if you dont the pro is stil well worth it

The highest level one you can afford is the best. The Elite gives you the best "value" as the packaged in goodies if you added them to the Premium would cost more than an Elite - however there really isn't much difference between the Premium and the Elite anymore - other than Hard Drive size.

Again though - the biggest you can afford is the best.
