Which Do You Enjoy More ? Gears of War 1 or 2

I personally enjoy the first better because of the balanced bosses throughout the campaign (Berserker, RAAM, Corpser), also the multiplayer was good from the start for most people, were as Gears 2 multiplayer was a mess up until lately. If it wasn't for TWO PIECING, OVERPOWERED WEAPONS, RANK (people are now lag hosting and not playing the actual game) then i would definate like Gears 2 more but because of these issues, 1 is the ideal shooter for me, what do you guys think ?

Overall, Gears of War because its online is far superior, and in terms of longevity thats what counts. But I really enjoy the sequel for its campaign which, in my opinion is far far superior to the original's snorefest. Horde mode is great fun as well.

For the statement in bold, I hope you dont mean over other games. If so, I really want whatever you are on. Both games were a load of crap. I dont have to explain because it isnt like people listen xD

gears of war 2 is alot better.

mostly since it had more variety in the battles then gear of war 1.

I played gears 1 multiplayer until they fixed Gears 2's. Now not that Gears 1's multiplayer was perfect, it has alot of exploitable glitches and what not but Gears 2 since the fix I find more fun and addicting.

I agree with you about the update it's great...except i saw a guy who was level 90 yeterday afternoon and it didn't really add up, so the MP is still kinda up in the air for me.

Gears 2 but only now after the patch...

Gears of War campaign is way better than Gears 2.

I have actually played through Gears 1 several times, but as of yet can't even be bothered to replay Gears 2 again.

Problems with Gears 2 campaign:

*Too much walking around switching buttons.

*Too many vehicle/flying type parts.

*Story is just meh.

*Last boss was just stupid.

Game just didn't flow like Gears 1. Felt randomly put together.

Sometimes I'd be playing and just be like.. "wtf is going on?" *blink* "What the heck just happened?

GoW2 isn't even worth a purchase.

Gears 2. The campaign is much better imo. Don't really like the MP much on either one of them.

I also feel that GoW 2 is an expansion pack of the prequel all they did was ad a few things here and there, i'm playing it right now as i type actually lol.:P

I enjoyed gears 1 alot. Me and a friend of mine played the multiplayer online for 15 hours straight. His 360 started literally smokin' haha. But i think i like gears 2 more (the multiplayer at least) because I they finally brought 'bots' into play. I don't haveLive at home so that keeps me entertained pretty well. As for the campaign, I played through the first and loved it, and even though i have had the second gears since the release date, I still haven't played through it yet, don't know why. So i don't have any opinion about the campaign.

I think gears 2 beats number 1 in everyway except that gears 1 had mad boss fights, the gears 2 ending was pretty much....what?

I would take Gears of War 2 over the original hands down! Even with the online issues (that have really been tightened up) it has been more fun than the first. Gears of War 2 is awesome!

In My Opinion Gears 2 was WAY better in gears 1, the campain had alot of memorable moments in it and had everything i was expecting for a sequel. As for multiplayer Gears 2 with the patch.

I enjoyed the Gears of War multiplayer and campaign more than Gears of War 2.

I still play Gears 1. I sold Gears 2 after the first update and got Street Fighter 4 with the money.

-Lag Switching/Stand-bying. -Lag. (I don't know if it's true but it's rumoured that the player with the worst connection is automatically selected as host of the game, silly eh?!) -Uneven weapon spawns -The amount of people who just press 'B' (Melee) or Hold 'B' (Chainsaw) because they are losing a normal battle. -The speed of the game, it's slower than GoW1.micromat

With the last patch Lag switching isn't even a problem and Lag has been minimal. The weapon spawns haven't been a problem since the first patch (Hail, I'm looking at you!) and people that hit B to melee or chainsaw have a much tougher time since the last patch. I would suggest playing the game again because it's wicked now! You can still encounter lag every now and then but that's the case in any game.

I think the first one will be remembered more fondly in the history of shooters, simply because it was the original. It's like Doom versus Doom 2. In that sense, the first Gears was better. However, I think the sequel improved on it in every way, and given a choice, I'd rather play Gears 2.

Gears 2, Campaign. Gears 1 for multiplayer, because it is less buggy.

I can't play a gears 2 game with out the game turining glitchy.
