Okay, i have a little over $300 to spend from Christmas and my birthday. I have been wanting to get a nice 22" monitor for my computer and my 360 in my bedroom. I realized though that i could get an HDTV for a little bit more money and now im stuck on which would be better. How much difference will there be between the picture of my 360 games on the monitor compared to a 720p HDTV? If it is extremely close then I will probably go with the cheaper choice the monitor. I can also, most likely, hook my PC up to theHD television right? How would the picture on that be? Any help is appreciated and if you know of any good HDTV'sormonitorsfor this please recommend.....

you can easily get away with a monitor, just get one that has the appropriate inputs. i picked up a LG flatron, it has hdmi, component, vga and dvi inputs. it can support HD resolutions and i believe it can support 1080p. not quite sure since i dont have an hdmi port on my 360 but it supports up to 1080i and 720p with component cables.

haha np mang. my only gripe or concerns with this specific monitor is sometimes u have to press the button a couple times before it switches inputs, eg from dvi to component etc.

If you don't want to watch TV on it, go for the monitor.

gmakforRDS, you can know if it is able to accept 1080p by seeing what native resolution is. If it's 22" or lower, probably not. 24" or higher, large chance it can since most of them are 1900x1200.

Your 360 will be slightly distorted on your monitor. Showing a 16:9 image on a 16:10 display. It may not matter for you, but it sure annoyed the hell out of me...
