I'm still wandering the wasteland, with Fawkes and Dogmeat, still discovering locations, and planning my next character.
I have yet to venture into Vegas, but I shall, soon.

Well, I'm renting it through LOVEFilM mail rental, and once the GOTY version comes out, I'll rent it again, to see how the final patch fares, and then see about buying it, so I'm not using any money on New Vegas directly until I'm certain I want to own it.
A couple of my friends have said it's good, and they both enjoyed Fallout 3 as much as I do, so we'll see.
EDIT:
Ah, pressed Submit slightly too soon.
I appreciate the concern though, I have heard bad things as well as good, so that's why I'm doing it this way, and not buying it outright.
Yeah - still playing Fallout 3.....probably half way through.......been put on hold while i tackle Mass Effect 2...
Not sure if I will pick up Vegas.....so many other good games to play that I'm not sure if I will even get time....

I actually felt exactly opposite. i thought New Vegas was a far stronger game in nearly every way and loved every second of it. What did you dislike so much about New Vegas?stupid troll...fallout 3 rocks.... Yes i do play fallout 3...i have 350 hrs in it, ive had it for over a yeari think you are the only one playing this game. Fallout 3 was probably one of the worst games i have ever played. i enjoyed playing bomberman zero than that piece of crap

Troll.....
I actually went back and beat Broken Steel a few days ago after not having played in a while. Playing Vegas right now since I never got the achievement for Hardcore Mode nor playing the Legionaire ending. I still prefer Fallout 3 over Vegas, though.
I don't know what you guys are babbling about...there's so much to do in vegas, the level cap is 40with both addons, the only let-down for me was the lack of weapon crafting

If you have nothing to contribute to this forum, leave, this game was like nothing we have ever experienced before. If you want to knock a game, start your own thread.
Traded Fallout 3 for New Vegas, worst decision ever. The bugs are so terrible and the guy who works at my local gamestop was telling me on how they can't get anyone to buy them. Kinda want to get the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 but only if it were a new copy at 20 bucks as I got all but maybe two or three achievements in Fallout 3 including the dlc achievements.
I love Fallout 3!!!
I am wandering the wastes on my 2nd char now. I am trying to find all the side quests since I have already beaten the main quest twice. I have all the add ons except mothership, which I am contemplating getting. I was disappointed with the Pitt, however.
I want new vegas but I have heard the technical issues suck so I am waiting.
I am a huge Fallout 3 fan and was really looking forward to Vegas. Huge disappointment!!!! I had to force myself to finish it. I would also complete several quests, go back to the first person who gave me a quest, then they would not give me the conversational response to complete the quest.
I still play Fallout 3 and actually this is the only gave I have 100% of the achievements for. I am currently playing on Xbox under someone elses Live account so they will get the achievements. I actually have a separate set of achievements for the PC and Xbox.

FALLOUT 3 WAS DA BOMB (insert groan here) While New Vegas really suffers from a weak over arcing storyline and a main charactor who's not that interesting but in spite of those two minor issues New Vegas is loads of fun and being the bad guy in New Vegas is more fun than being the bad guy in Fallout 3.
Am I the only one who liked both Fallout 3 and New Vegas equally? I'm still playing New Vegas, there is so much to do in this game.pomd1
The two games are night & day
New Vegas = More to do, better visuals, and BETTER WEAPONS
Fallout 3 = Better over arcing story, better charactor growth, and because of those two factors the ending has a bigger impact on the player
I'm playing Fallout 3 now and I thinks it's a great game...I'm not very far into it--I'm probably about a quarter of the way through it. I have the Op:Ank DLC and I plan on playing that once I can find out where this damned Family is located. I'm holding off on Fallout: New Vegas until I finish Fallout 3. Some people have told me that NV is horrible and to stick with Fallout 3. Others tell me its the other way around and that New Vegas is much better then 3. Now I'm reading the same thing here. WTF? What gives?SLCSlayer29
They are inside Vegas if I remember correctly. Aren's they the ones using masks believeing they are really upper class people?
I moved on to Fallout New Vegas. Have never looked back. I still have to go back & complete some of the DLCs in the future. New Vegas is a completely superior game in every single area though. Im really surprised this isnt the majority opinion. Some of you must take off your nostalgia goggles.
Vegas is disappointing right after FO3 but you know...it grows on you.
Eventually Vegas begins to feel bigger, deeper and more epic.
This happens very slowly, over 2-3 playthrus, eventually FO3 feels shallow, empty, scripted.
i think the story is better in FO3, the way its executed, it has all the elements of a good story incorporated into the game, it might seem a bit more shallow because of the npcs aren't quite as flushed out, but as far as action, drama, suspense, FO3 had all that, meeting up with sarah lyons at GNR to fight the behemoth, the enclave showing up at the the purifier, that was tense, then having to get the geck, getting kidnapped, having to escape raven rock, some of the quests in FO3 had an epic feel to em, reilys ranger quest is exellent, fighting all those super mutants in the statesman hotel, also after the waters of life quest when the enclave start showing up with shock troops, the npcs might not of had as much dialogue compared to NV but none of the quests in new vegas had an epic feel to em except maybe the battle at the dam, but the game is over then, for pure epic moments and exploration, and just overall sneaking around and fighting enemies, nothing really comes close to FO3, thats why its remembered so fondly by so many people still and still played..NV is a good game, it has a lot of dialogue and good npc interaction, lots of cool weapons and mods for em, but for exploring and fighting enemies its not even close to FO3, FO3 has like 100 times more battle areas. the entire city area is a battlezone inside and outside areas and they are huge areas. new vegas doesn't have that at all, the city of vegas isn't a battleground. and even if you picked fights, there weren't any nooks and crannies to battle it out in, you're in the open wherever you are in NV pretty much, with no place to hide hardly ever and no enemies really out to get you except for creatures in the desert, and wasting all those good weapons and mods on geckos and scorpions is weak and no fun. sniping deathclaws? thats not as fun as having to fight the enclave or supermutants in the city areas. sneaking around all the rubble.
Right now, I'm trying to finish every interesting thing in Skyrim and getting all achievements and completing Dawnguard, but as soon as I'm done, I know what to do.
Play my second favorite game of all time: Fallout 3.
when you compare it to FO3 and say its superior to it in every way, you must not of played FO3 very much, or you just don't like fighting human enemies or maybe you don't like complex indoor and outdoor locations or exploring, maybe the map was too complicated for you to navigate, but NV had very few human enemies to fight, it had no city areas to sneak around and explore, no good battlezeones, no secret bases etc etc, no super mutants, no enclave, no formidable human opponents in cool areas to fight, powder gangers and CL standing around tents with melee weapons? thats a joke. it wasn't a good open world game compared to FO3...it had no random encounters, no random enemy spawns, its a static world when it comes to enemies to fight, there was no point in cruising around the map, most areas had nothing happening ever, not even periodicaly..you think most people are gonna like it better even though its missing all that? just cause it has a few more weapons and gambling? there is a reason new vegas never had the popularity FO3 had...it just doesn't have the appeal of that FO3 had, its lacking too many important elements, some of which i mentioned.I moved on to Fallout New Vegas. Have never looked back. I still have to go back & complete some of the DLCs in the future. New Vegas is a completely superior game in every single area though.
