who is dreading going to pick up their copy of halo 3?

1. halo 3 is being released 1 week after my fall classes start. this is a problem since i'm sure i'll be tempted to sleep-in, skip class and play halo 3 until i have to go to work.
2. i still have the memory of waiting almost 2 hours in line for halo 2 when i went to the midnight release party. it sucked for the following reasons: the people in line were all anti-social dicks, the non-preorder line was moving faster than the preorder, andit was 40 degrees F outside that night.
3. i was planning on picking up my pre-order when gamestop opens during their normal hours on the 25th but the shop owner thinks that day is gonna be crappier than the midnight launch because of all the non-preorder people trying to get their copy.

Ya for number 2 people waiting in line in the dead of night are probably not going to be the happiest of people...

it will be fine i mean most decent stores will have as many copies as they can handle

I felt like a dick waiting in line for Halo 2. There's no way I'm going through that again. I'll wait 'til about 3pm on the 25th, 'til all the fanatics and nerds have cleared out, and swoop in and pick up my copy, hassle-free.

i hope its not crowded at around 2-3 pm when im going, i dont wanna waste time surrounded by guys 3 times my age lol

I hate all those EB, gamestop stores, ect ect, the workers are usually weirdo's and jerks, and alot of the people that go into there make me feel embarrassed when im in there. I usually just go to Best buy or Futureshop. Also I don't pre-order. You could try it my way, much less of a hassle. Does it really matter that much that you get it on the first day? What difference does it make?bri360

The single player alone is worth getting the game for. Live is just a bonus.

No one ever said it would be easy. But then again no one ever said you had to be the first one on the block to get your version of Halo 3 either. But since you did preorder it I understand where you're coming from.

But I gotta say having a little patience helps (even if you preorder it you'll have to wait for it anyway).

i would say go to walmart they guarantee that they will be the fastest way to get your copy....and u get a free halo 3 dog tag lol....i dident pre order halo 3 cus there is a walmart close to me that i know will be empty when halo comes out.:D

Only problem with getting Halo 3 for me is that it's a week before I have trial exams, which are quite significant seeing as it's my last year of schooling and you're supposed to give a damn about it. Unfortunately I don't, yet my stupid conscience says I should do some study but I'd prefer not to, instead i'll finish the fight. :D

hopefully my store has a paid in full preorder line and and the employee just views the receipt / hands purchase out quickly.

Maybe even an employee going down the line highlighting receipts with a marker for easy identification of paid preorders.

But who knows, the kids working at the store probably don't think to do this. The last time i waited in line overnight was Black Friday sale at Walmart. 200 people in line for 20 laptops priced at $200, consequently the stampede crushed a girls ribs. The idiot employees were all inside the store at the register to control the crowd instead of moderating the flow from outside.

2 hours to buy Halo? Oh hell no. I'm in...cash in hand and I'm out. I'm not spending hours in a game store.

Mine is prepaid but I don't really want to go to the midnight launch. I'll just go during their regular business hours. Also, if you haven't already preordered it, I would suggest going to WalMart. I read that they are going to have tons of copies and that they will have lines open specifically for buying the game.Headhunter01
