I own it and I think the only differenece, correct me if I'm wrong, is that the graphics are updated (Duh.) and there are VR Missions.

In addition to the VR missions (very similar to the VR missions for the first MGS), there is another set of real missions called "Snake Tales." You play as Snake, and the story is conveyed through text when it needs to advance. ... if I'm not mistaken, I think there was another mode where Raiden could skateboard... don't quote me on that. But yeah, many goodies. I've played through both versions and I don't believe there were any real changes between the PS2 and the Xbox versions of the main game.

Currently, it's not compatible with the 360, updated or otherwise. Hopefully the next BC update will rectify this oversight (as it should with many, many other games).

The controls might take getting used to on the XBOX if you are familiar with the PS2 version.  It might take even longer to get used to because, if you think about it, it's a port of a port (From PS2 to XBOX to the 360 (through emulation - hopefully it will become backwards compatible) ) so the buttons are laid out differently on each controller.

I don't think they have added the game to the backwards comp list.  At least I don't see it.

the xbox version is the same as the PS2 version only graphics are a lil better......well really just better framerate, but the PS2 version had the skateboarding mini game which isn't included in the xbox version.
