I dont. As a matter of fact I will bet u 5 dollars it wont come out on november 2008. But let me tell u those a are 5 dollars I desire to lose :) proof me wrong EPIC. I think that EPIC has had to much proyects lately and its impossible ( I hope not) that that game would be finished by november.
It's goin to be the same thing as Halo 3, everyone expected that to come out in November but it was bumped up a few months so I think GeOW 2 can make a Nov 08 release.
i think microsoft will force them to have it done by november so it can move console units during the holiday season. let's hope it does not affect the quality of the game.

I would hate for Gears of War 2 to be a rushed game, but it's safe to say they would never do that.
I think it has a high chance of being completed by November...most likely late November. They have been working on it even before GoW1 came out. GoW1 was simply an introduction to all of the characters and it still rocked. This one will pwn GoW1. This is where the story truly picks up.

Initially I would say no, but if you think about it, they already have most of the game built from the first one. I'm no expert, but wouldn't all they need to do is create some new levels, weapons, and perhaps enemies? And if they started on that right after the release of number one, then, yes, they can get it out by Novemeber.
as much as I can't wait for Gears 2, I KNOW it will be delayed. Its just inevitable. Just another way to market and hype up a game...even though Gears doesn't need much help in the hype department :)
Did anyone here even listen to what Cliffy B had to say about gears and gears 2....Gears one was rushed, yes, but even before Gears of War was released, theyd started on Gears 2. They know the engine better than anyone, they made 3 or 4 games now using it, they have the story built, just a matter of now level creation and working out bugs...... The only thing i can see delaying the game is matchmaking. That's saying that Epic includes a decent matchmaking system, they may just use the same hosting system they already include in a number of their games.
I think it will be released around November, for a few reasons. It's been in development a long time for a game that doesn't need the engine made from scratch. It is one of Microsofts most anticipated games.. now... as well as with the death of HDDVD and people supposedly buying PS3 as their movie player, MS will want something killer out for the holidays to ensure their gaming share does not fail over xmas 08.
Besides, we all know that they can RUSH it if needed, god knows they did on the first one.
I'm not even going to bother speculating until more information is given on it. Who wants to bet it will be a cover story for a big magazine next month? Probably Game Informer will get it as the cover story.
This is too big to delay and they're not building it from the ground up. Sure GTA4 was delayed, but they were building that from scratch and it's not an exclusive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but have any 360 games that are sequels of 360 games been delayed?
I seriously doubt this will be out by 11/08. They're just building hype for the game, and rightfully so as it will kick the utmost ass! They wanna scoop up as many pre-orders as possible. It really depends on how long the devs have actually been working on the game. For all we know, work started as soon as Gears 1 was release, so we'll see. I'd be happy to see it ASAP.
I think it will come out in november and i have heard that it will be coming out november 3rd and i think they have been working on it since the first one released.

Will be released in 09 seeing as how there aren't any screenshots or gameplay trailers of the game yet. But then again... Epic had 2 years to make it so you never know, maybe they announced it late so we wouldn't need to wait so long... :D
Odds are it won't because Epic's been working on this sequel since after Gears 1 was released. They wouldn't need a year to port the PC version anyway, just change the controls and up the graphics a bit and add the new levels. At the same time they of course could have been working on Gears 2. I'm pretty sure though that they've been working on it since after Gears 1 came out. So they can make the November release. At least I hope they do, this game will kick the crap out of Krapzone 2, Metal Gear Hollow 4, and Gran Turismo 5: Borelog.
It wont, they wouldn't put a release date/month so early if they new they wouldn't/couldn't make the deadline. They said November 2008, not just 2008. I'm pretty confident I'll be playing this come November.
You guys don't understand that shooter sequels almost always come out in shorter times then the originals.
Think about it for Gears 1 Epic had to design the world, cover system, graphics, enemies, names, enviroments and so on and so on. But with gears 2 they wont have to design a cover system or the characters or environments and enemies. No to mention the story which they had to completely make up but with gears 2 they will just have too add on it.
Geez its not like their going to reinvent the game, trust me it will make its release date and in fine shape too.
It will most definately be delayed. Probably until next spring. I mean they only showed a red cartoon thing in the trailer. To me that sais that they are not that close.
A lot of people aren't realizing, Epic can very well ship Gears of War 2 by November 2008. Look at the facts:
Epic has tons of resources and labour
Some of the most talented developers/designers/engineers
All the modeling for characters are done from the original Gears, along with basic textures
They are extremely efficient in using the Unreal Engine, and now with 3.5, they have more tools and options for added productivity
Basic gameplay mechanics are essentially done, now it needs to be tweaked and a few things need to be added
There are a few other points, but those are the basic ones. They have 2 years to make a decent SP experience, and revamp the online code. It can be done (if anyone can do it, it's Epic).
I think it will, CliffyB said it could be done in 18 months, and they've probaly been working on it since before the release of the first, since it's a planned trilogy.
I remember reading a while back(2-4 months) that epic had doubled the size of their game design office space, as well as aquired an entirely different building for all the gameplay testers. I wish i remember the origin of the article. if its true, that would make me say they can make it. ALSO gears is made to counter sonys line up, i think they will HAVE to have it out by then. Hopefully its not rushed.
I dont think Epic games would make for a November 2008 with all that glorified trailer at EDC, only to back out and opt for a later release date. They have been good on their release dates for the most part. Did it ever occur to you guys that they may have been working on this game since the days of Gears of War original. There is such a thing as secrecy and keeping things under wraps. What's the point of creating hype when you just release a ton of info? It's all about marketing, and I work in business. It's going to come out November 2008. Get ready.
i think it will actually...they know how much people are anticipating this game
but then again if there are too many problems with it nearin the release, i think that is better they delay it and make sure no glitching happens...or get rid of the huge host advantage

i think it'll be out this year. its a must to have a console pusher in november for another holiday they have to have gears come out this year otherwise the ps3 will catch up.
I bet they have been working on it since the fist came out. Which will be about 2 years when it comes out. So they would of had like 20 or so months to work on it.
