yea thats the same attitude i have towards an HDTv, but the prices are coming down now
I have a SDTV with RF switch and that RF terminal is broker... sometimes there are static lines on the tv and it really pisses me off... but then again I had a choice of TV or PS3 and I picked ps3..... I will get a 32 inch LCD TV when prices go down...
not cheap, just waiting a little while before i go balls deep and sink around 2500-4000 in the latest lcd

Go for DLP! Seems to me that's the best HD technology for price and size. Unless of course you really are looking to hang it on your wall or carry it alone.
Wow you guys are missing out. I've been on 480p at minimum since Xbox1, and bought all the 720p Xbox1 games. (XML was sharp at 720p, and Hulk Ultimate Destruction looks better than Gundam Crossfire on PS3.)
Just get a $40 VGA cable and hook up to a monitor. You can buy a 20" crt monitor for like $80 these days and game in 720p. The difference is enormous.
I am, but I would rather spend the $2,000 on games and all kinds of stuff for my 360, I personally don't see that big of a difference in MOST video games.

Samsungs you can get as low as $800 but they ain't the newest models out there if you know what I mean...Sony is the best TV brand out there IMO and their price reflects it, expect to pay upwards of $1200.
I had 480i for the last year, but next month for my B-Day I'm getting a 42" Phillips. 480i was good for most games, but it was terrible during Tom Clancy games. I could not ready a thing in Ghost Recon.
I was so vain with all this high definition stuff when I got my 360 at Christmas, so I bought myself a 32" Philips HDTV just a week later.. Now there's NO WAY im going back to standard definition..

I have a HDTV and my 360 is hooked-up to my SDTV. Some games look better on Hi-Dev. and some look better on SD. To me a kick'n 5.1 is the most importand part of the experience.
I have a 27inch lcd monitor in my lounge so sometimes i hook my 360 up to that but most of the time i use it on my 29inch crt in my room and i dont mind.
wow, how can yall do that lol, sdtv for a system designed for HDTV....I waited an entire year after the 360 came out just so I could afford the system and TV together(I kno im bad at saving money, beer burns up my funds fairly quickly)....man thats like eating chips without dip or tryin to read without glasses,or its like putting 24 inch chrome rims on a PoS 1991 Ford Taurus haha im just jokin with yall, I salute u guys for usin SDTV I couldnt do it......
U guys are missin out by not havin an HDTV. Supposedly they're gettin cheaper. Check newegg and ur local wal-mart. Gears in 720p will make your eyes bleed. And you'll actually be happy about it
At the moment I am happier then a pig in s**t playing my Xbox on a standard def TV. But ask me tomorrow when I knock off work after a nightshift and go pick up that HDTV I have been saving for about 2 months for :). I am sure I will have a different opinion of playing 360 on SDTVs then LOL.Â
I still use my old 27" CRT. It has an anamorphic squeeze mode that gives me a really sharp widescreen display, even in 480i.
I actually have a little 22" HDTV that'll do 720p, and even though the 360 looks really good on it, I'd rather have it in my regular gaming room with my 5.1 surround system.
Every time I think about going all HD, I think about everything involved; my AV receiver won't switch component or HDMI, I'd have to upgrade my cable service which would obsolete my TiVo, etc. A looooong slippery slope.
My tv is so old that I hook up the AV cables through the VCR which is connected to the cable plug on the tv lol and I still love it- games are great no matter what but I am always open for improvement if anyone wants to contribute to the hdtv fund lol
i give a damn. i got a HD tv because i was tired of playing games and not being able to read what is on the screen. one thing is dead rising. it was impossible to do that. i was happy for the upgrade :)

I got my Sony Bravia 32in LCD for $700...it came out to $750. It's a real nice TV I expected it to be about $800 but it was on sale for 7, I'd say you can probably get the same one for 6 by now(it was about a year ago). I'd say the price of the high end HD's are about $800. Check out 6th Ave, it's an electronics store that has TV's real cheap and lots of them. I would just look at 720p because it doesn't make any difference really on 32in.
