why cant metal gear 4 fit for the 360?

i mean if games that are alot bigger like oblivion or mass effect and games like halo 3 which have whole bunch more content. than why does konami say mgs4 wouldnt fit the dvd that 360 uses?

also why cant we use a keyboard and mouse? cant they just make an update so we can use it for rts games or ut3?

Originally Bioware said Mass Effect fits in 4 DVDs, but they managed to properly compressed the contents. If you do good compression, DVD9 is good for most cases.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. Lost Odyssey is in 4 DVDs, and I don't even think the content is that much. When you divid up DVDs, you end up with 60% duplicated data + 30% CGI + 10% new contents.

About keyboard and mouse, that's for PC. Also you will face the controler unfairness.

first off sorry to come in the 360 but i was bored reading all the "mgs4 will come to 360" threads on the metal gear 4 forums im about to puke, so i wanted to see it first hand on your boards why u crying

oblivion mass effect and halo 3 are not bigger than metal gear 4, content? metal gear solid 4 has more than just content its far superior to all those games combined time four

and ps3 does have usb mouse/keyboard it works flawless but nobody really plays ut3 anymore anyway at least i don't ant it was my favorite online game for ps3... need i say bioshock? lol

also this is the kicker at gamestop today when i bought my copy og mgs4 the dumb chick said she only plays gears of war then she said final fantasy xiii was comming for 360 yeah right. mabey if god of war 3 was also right?

I'm certain that oblivion has more content than MGS4...have u tried completing the entire game? Plus, u just bought the game today, how would u know how much content is in there? Anyway, compressing files takes time, so I doubt that Kojima wanted to bother...since MGS games have a ton of dialog in them, all of those sound files may have added up. Obviously, i didn't develop the game, so there could be something else taking up most of the space...

In all fairness Kojima left MGS4 completely un-compressed. Who knows how the game would measure up with compression.

well, Kojima designed MGS4 taking into account the potential of the PS3 and trying to squeeze the most of its hardware. it was made for the PS3 in every single sense, and Kojima said somewhere that is was going to be the game that would put the PS3 on top of the console war. so the deal there between Sony and Konami is more than strong.

still though, I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 years or so the game gets ported to the X360. time changes things a lot and in the gaming industry, everything gets old real fast.

the game its self is not the problem, there are 90 min of cutscense that are in 1080p that is taking up alot of room

It'll probably get released on xbox 360 in a year or two with a name like metal gear 4 spazsidance with new cut scenes and some VR missions.

I guess they will weight up the cost of porting it with the potential sales.

Don't worry man it will come to 360 sometime next year. Pay no attention to the Sony fan-boys. they finally got a decent game and don't know what to do with themselves. 3 or 4 DVD 9's with proper compression would do MGS4 fine. The good part is that it would be in real 720P thanks to the 360's superior GPU.

However, going back slightly on my previous post - I do believe the main man in charge of MGS4 (not even going to try spell his name) was quoted as saying something along the lines of "We have no plans to release the game on 360"

Now what that means, who knows. Does that mean its NOT happening....or simply that they have no plans at the moment.

Right now, MGS 4 is on a 50gb BD disc Uncompressed. IF it were to come to 360. They would have to massively Compress it, meaning a possible chance of Diminished Quality. Unless they out it on like 6 Discs Uncompressed or more. black_awpN1

So Kojima himself said not even blu-ray was enough??? So what would have happen if he acted like the Sony fan-boys and and made all the exscuses against compression? The game probaly would have been cancelled. Yes MGS4 was compressed and with 3 or 4 dvd9's it could be the same.

I think MSG4 has about as much chance of getting released on the 360 as Halo 3 has of being released on PS3. They both are the flagship titles of their consoles. I dont want to buy a PS3 right now as much as the next guy, but if we want to play MGS4 we are gonna have to.

Actually, you will find that it is not upscaling, but playing at 720p........this is not a negative thing. It is all about optimising the software with the hardware, etc etc, to get the desired results......Although Sony are 'pushing' 1080p with tvs, blu ray, ps3 etc, it is surprising how many games are 720p on the ps3. I have a Sony Bravia 1080p tv and it tells what resolution it is displaying with every source.

In the end, MGS4 looks great....whatever resolution it is in! Same with Halo3 as far as I am concerned.

But as far as the original post.......MGS4 could be done on the 360......whether it will is something we will have to wait and see.

Did someone really say that Lost Odyssey doesn't have that much content to have 4 discs ? The game has 10-15 hours worth of cutscenes alone . Not to mention 70+ hours of gameplay if you plan to complete it 100% .

Mass Effect was one of the biggest flops of all time. The E3 trailer had better graphics than the actual game. The gameplay mechanics were completely broken.

some games come out for some consoles and some come out for all consoles, thats the name of the game. I usually end up getting all the systems i have always loved my xbox 1st but as much as i hate sony if theres a good enough exclusive ill fork over the doe for their system.

even though werent there a few metal gears out for the original xbox and even the gamecube? im sure sony will try to hold on to MGS4 as long as they can but you never know give it a yr or 2 and u may see a 360 version, until then if u cannot wait buy a ps3

Personally I don't understand why everyone is freaking out over the possibility. MGS4 really doesn't look AMAZING to me. Sure the graphics are amazing but I own every Metal Gear game and I have just never love loved them to the point I'd buy a PS3 or freak out over it coming or not to the 360.

If it did though I'd most likely give it a rent.
