why cant metal gear 4 fit for the 360?

a few reasons. developers don't need to compress on the ps3 so they just throw it all bulky like onto a blu ray. also, mgs4 has hours of hd cutscenes which take up more space than the game time equivalent.

and also because kojima doesn't want it to be on 360 so he'll say what he needs to to keep it from happening.

man its not how big the game is , the can fit on 360 dvd9 and ps3 disc, its not coming out on 360 because its an original ps game and sony has rights, if u want the game that bad save up and get a ps3, so then youll have a 360 for gears 2, fable 2, and halo 3, and a ps3 for mgs4, god of war, and ressistance 2, each system has its advantages

Someone please close this thread, as you can see the PS3 fanboys are getting defensive since they now have a game they can fight this console war.

360 > PS3

i mean if games that are alot bigger like oblivion or mass effect and games like halo 3 which have whole bunch more content. than why does konami say mgs4 wouldnt fit the dvd that 360 uses?

also why cant we use a keyboard and mouse? cant they just make an update so we can use it for rts games or ut3?

• Hideo Kojima is known as a perfectionist in the industry. He will intensely go over something and retouch/redo until it meets his desired/intended image/effect.
• (probably the biggest reason) all the audio on the dual-layer BD for the game is uncompressed. Kojima chose not to fetter with or look for even lossless file types, instead just having the PS3 play the raw files. And anyone that's ever created any meaningful content should know - uncompressed audio or video takes up epic amounts of storage space.

Anyways, anyone who says that there is no chance of MGS4 coming to 360 is ignorant. And don't compare it to halo 3- Microsoft owns all the Halo brands and stuff, and owned Bungie while the Halo games were released. Kojima is a third party developer, so if Microsoft can offer them enough and Sony can't, they'll bring MGS4 to 360 to make some extra money. It makes sense for them- many 360 owners would buy the game.

who are you trying to flame because u just put down the 360 if anything...
but anyway i dont think theres a chance that MGS4 will come to 360 because of the disk spaced they used but they could compress it all down to mabby 2 dvds but that would be just that much more time and u know.... but if it does that all good i just know i wouldent buy it my self..... but who really cares

Because you cant compress 50 gb of data into a dual layered DVD just go and buy a PS3
