why does almost everyone here hate halo 3?

Most hardcore Halo 2 fans would disagree. Halo 2 had better gameplay, IMO. Halo 3 is still good but it lacks a few things that made Halo:CE and Halo 2 so special.

1. It's basically just Halo 2 with more options and better graphics

Personally I love Halo and I think that COD is overrated. But I think that the reason they are bored with Halo is because Bungi didnt do that good of a job makeing stuff new and exciting. COD is something new that no one has seen before.MitchellPot

What did CoD do that was knew? Allow people access to the best gun first? Make it so that no matter how much "skill" you have in the game you will always get killed by somebody with an M16, Stopping power, and Deep Impact?

And for the perks, those are just "Power Ups" under a differant name... "Overshield" sounds a lot like "Juggernaught" to me, the only differance is that those power ups go away with time while juggernaught you have to put up with through the whole game.

Because it sucks furious amounts of **** ? Because it manages to completely bastardize what started as a great and compelling story in the first game and turn even the campaign and story into a mindless deathmatch? Because it started the whole teabagging phenomenom? Because its difficulty is horribly schizophrenic compared to the first two? Many people keep giving it high review scores purely on the multiplayer, and completely forgo the campaign/story mode. Well, if it was such a perfect game, ALL parts of the game would be fantastic, and not just the MP. The SP/co-op clearly did not live up to the review scores that this game was getting. We can't just excuse the SP because the online is supposed to be better. Much like Countersuck, the MP isn't that good either. If anything, it's just basically all about who gets to be the biggest **** online that wins at all. Which only furthers to create a heinously hostile gaming environment that finally became "the straw that broke" this camel's back. :evil: Even on the subject of MP (again), the lag was hideous and heinous. if even so much as ONE person only had 3 bars instead of the full four, lag becomes immediately unbearable and makes games unplayable. Also, WHAT part of TEAM OBJECTIVE do you all not understand? :evil:codezer0

Yeah those would be the people who play the game not the game itself... they just need to press "Eject", pull out Halo 3, Insert CoD4, and presto... teabagging is now in CoD4!

I got to admit, when i first played halo 3 i expected so much. I found it boring and disspoiting. Months later i start playing it, i find it to actually be a really good game. I geuss months of exitement made me overthink on this game.

I like halo 2 style of multiplayer. It had a true matchmaking system that was addicting and matched correctly with other ppl's skill. The maps were awsome compared to halo 3. I think halo 3 is fun, but i don't think it has lived to the hype of the prev's halo's. But i've always like how bungie keeps there games fresh with updates, maps and a new teaser trailer.

Uh, the graphics are TERRIBLE. It looks almost exactly like Halo 2, just a little cleaner. The campaign is incredibly boring (I honestly couldn't even make it passed the first level) and the multiplayer was also not as good as Halo 2. And this is coming from someone who got bored of Halo 2 after a few months. Halo 3 was COMPLETE garbage.

I don't hate it, I'm just rather indifferent about it.
Though lately I've gotten a small urge to get it and join the fun.

But the reason why I won't buy it now is the same as it was on launch: I don't know the story; it's silly to jump into a series in the middle of it.
Also since it has been out so long I'd get totally obliterated and I'm afraid the communiry will start to die or narrow down at this point. :?

I think loads of people loved it.

Maybe it's just me but it seems as there are like 3 different kind of people.

At first we have the guys who started with playing Gears of war and then trying halo 3. They usually prefer Gears of war and say it so much better in every way.

At second we have the guys "the other way around" that just happend to get their hands of halo 3 first (like me) and then prefered it over gears of war.

At third we have the guys that just think both games are either awesome or just both suck ^_^

I kinda play it everyday (multiplayer) and enjoy it very much

I don't see why everyone says it's overrated. They promised new guns, new vehicles, new maps, and an end to the story. They never promised revolutionary new concepts for the game, and none of the previews I read for it hinted at that.

In any case, I don't like the online very much and the campaign was much less impressive than the original's.

Hype shouldnt effect the quality of a game. It only does, if you let it.

I'll explain why Halo 3 is hated so much. it is simple. The answer is: internet people.

This doesn't just go for Halo 3, it goes for most popular products. What's the most popular TV series you can think of? There are leagues of online forums against that show. It's just "internet people."

Complaining about Halo 3's "hype" is just plain ignorant. Halo 3 is "hyped" no different than any other movie that's coming out. Snakes on a Plain, Steven Seagal... whatever. The odd thing is, Halo 1 is the only game that seemed "hyped to me." I don't remember the developer's claiming Halo 3 is the best game ever. The commercial of Halo 3 didn't even show "gameplay," just toys. Halo 3 was popular not by "hype," but by the popularity of the original games.

It's just the way INTERNET PEOPLE behave, and I'm gonig to stress the term "internet people." Get a tv show with the most views on Sunday nights, yet leagues of forum people bash it. it's just that simple.. i honestly do not remember much "hype" of Halo 3... maybe Halo 2 and 1... but not 3. The commercial alone wasn't hype, so I'm guessing the "anger" of over-hype comes from the forum people.

Hate Halo 3 as much as you want, it is one of the top played games on Xbox live. That means there are a large amount of people who like that game. In school, Halo 3 is mentioned often. I suppose if you don't like Tenchu, you'd trade it to the store. Don't like Halo 3, post about it. If forum posters were representative of the human population, Halo 3 online would be empty, and cartoons would be all in Japanese.

How are you gunna say remove a huge chunk of the game and you will be left with an average game? THE MULTIPLAYER IS PART OF THE GAME. Remove the multiplayer from Gears of War. Remove the multiplayer from Counter Strike. Remove the multiplayer from Resistance. And of course it's going to cripple the game's fun. The multiplayer was built as a part of the game.

This fact is supported not only by Halo 3's popularity, but also by the fact that most people watch cartoons in ENGLISH not JAPANESE. I love Halo 3. It is my fav game I've ever bought.

the offline portion is terrible, and i refuse to play it offline or complete the campaign ever

but on-line, it is the game that outlasts any other in staying fun the longest.

There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between having an OPINION, and bashing something each and everytime it is brought up. You cannot even mention Halo casually without people jumping on your case. People that feel ripped off by Rumble Roses or DOAX2 don't say too much. People that refused to complete Ninja Gaiden or Tenchu games stay silent after a while.

But you can barely mention Halo without forum users getting overlly excited. This is why topics like these are questioned. Yes, they are "haters" that simply like to hate. If bashing Halo didn't cause so much splash, they'd just ignore Halo related things all together.

There could be thousands of articles with the heading "from the creators of Tenchu Z" that'd be ignored. But an article with the text, "Henry Ford plays Halo 2" will get bombarded with arguments. Just a nerd rebellion.

Case and point: most of the users bashing Halo on every occasion are actually accustomed to being in flamewars, and are the same ones angrily criticizing a reviewer for giving their game a low score. Hypocrits.
