well, I have an elite. I like having all of the space because I like watching movies and I'm gonna get a lot of demos. I don't have XBL yet. :(

120gig hard drive means you'll have plenty of space to download games straight to the console to play off the hard drive speeding up load times and fixing small glitches (leaving the disk in the tray so it can check ownership rights)

I like the black color of the console instead of that milky almost white color

Free HDMI cable was nice

I's just the version I wanted, when I was going to go for an XBOX360 I wanted the best I could get at the time.

The only difference between an Elite and a normal xbox, is the HDMI and 120gb HDD. So if you have not yet got an Xbox 360, I'd recommend it to you, but if you have got one already, I wouldn't advise buying an Elite.

you don't ask why elite, sorry for your luck you gotta clear space for expansions, don't exactly have the hard drive to hold hd movies either. What happens when you want it back? It works like a teater totter. I remember they distributed 20 gb hard drives for pc back in 98... and now you can buy em a dime a dozen. What on god's green earth was microsoft thinking? To screw you straight and through the rectum

I had an original 360 with the 20GB hard drive. Then it developed the RROD syndrome. Once I got it returned from Microsoft, I sold it and applied the money to a new 360 Elite. Honestly, I bought it for the hard drive and the HDMI (which, yes I know the new 360 20GB versions have HDMI). My original 20GB model only had 6GB of space left on it, even though I really didn't have that much on it. And with all the demos, movies, and soon to be, hard drive caching of games, space is becoming all to important. Even Microsoft recognizes this since they will soon be replacing the 20GB Pro system with a 60GB Pro system.

Because it was only a hundred dollars more from the (then 20gb, now 60gb models) plus HDMI and the color black is better then the color white.

Elites do come with an HDMI cable, I bought one last week, and inside was a Microsoft branded HDMI cable, as well as the component cable.

I originally had bought a regular system with the 20GB hard drive. All my other systems were black... I was already confident that opening the system wouldn't prove to be a problem, so I took the casing off and painted mine black (nice coating of glossiness and such). Then life happened, I lost the 360, so I recently bought an Elite. The space is fantastic! I don't need to wipe my movies or music for quite some time. Happiness is a big hard drive. :) Plus... it's black. :D

Lmao, funny - no, I got out of a long relationship and he decided that the 360, 50+ inch TV, etc, belonged to him. So now he has a regular 360 (I just bought an elite), a 50 inch Projection (I now have a 55 inch LCD Plasma), and more video games than you can shake a stick at. I think I'm doing well all by myself. :D

I like my 20gb hdd just fine, and to clear things up all recent 360 models come with a HDMI port beneath the normal AV port, only the Elite come with a HDMI cable.

On to another note, I have a 20gb and I like it just fine I would consider moving to 120gb with the fall update but I don't think that slowing down my load times is worth that much money that I could spend on other things.

And I actually like the white color, looks well with my Wii.

Your 360 did not come with an HDMI cable

yeah it did....i got it 4 months ago,has an hdtv or tv toggle switch

really?hm oh well,i dont have an hdtv so dont matter to me.

hdmi cable is a proper hd cable, component is compatible with hd but cant display as good graphics. the elite when made was the only model with a hdmi port built in, had a normal hd component cable, and a hdmi cable. its also the only model that has a dongle for digital 5.1 out for the hdmi. so i u had a 5.1 sound system that needed optical then you need a dongle that comes with the elite that you cannot even buy seperately. to say its just the same because you dont use these features is dumb. they are not the same. although some of the features have turned up in lower spec models this wasnt the case when it was released and its still the only system that runs hd over hdmi at the same time of being able to run a optical 5.1 sound system. asides from that and being black it also has the biggest hard drive bundled with it. thats what you pay the extra for. now if ur on a rubbish tv and sound system then u dont need them extras. but dont mean its just as good as the other systems when its clearly better if u going for the proper big screen hd and cinema sound expiernce for your games

and the elite is the only model that comes with the 5.1 opticle out dongle. without that (which u cant buy new sepertatly or get with any other system) if you wanted hd and 5.1 sound via opticle you would have use the component cable instead and not get as good as graphics as using the hdmi built in and that dongle.
