why is cod black op bad?

I own call of duty mv1,2 and w@w. Spend most time on mv1 and play a few games with the other two and got bored. My question is why some people say black op suck and rave about the first two when all of cod game is the same. I cant tell the difference between them all, so what set them apart?

The fact of the matter is is that it doesn't suck. Millions of people wouldn't buy it if it sucked. There are things that people complain about, but people will find a way to complain about everything.

That doesn't mean anything. Twilight sold a lot too, but there are plenty of legitimate reasons why you could call that a bad novel.

Good sales just mean that the game was marketed well to a particular audience. People outside of that target audience - such as people who enjoy lengthy campaigns, balanced multiplayer, complex gameplay or new/unique gaming experiences - will probably call it bad for those reasons.

haters gonna hate, whats laughable is when people say its becuase it doesnt require skill and then go praise halo or killzone.

as for being repetitive black ops revamped the multiplayer completely from MW2, if antyhing people should petition pokemon for being repetitive i stopped playing --codit a while ago though i give it like month breaks of play time.

I think the problem lies with it not being that different from MW2, and that game has been played to death by the majority of call of duty players. There is only so long a FPS will hold its appeal, regardless of how many times you change the location.

I also think the nonsense going on with Bobby K and Activision has turned players off them, having a man running the show who has so little disregard for the consumer and industry does not bode well.

I love black ops, it's pretty fun to me.

Yeah, its pretty much the same game as far as I'm concerned.

As long as the series continues to be fun, I'll keep on buying it.

I would like to see Activision take a year off for a change.

I never really cared about the campaign mode.

If you already have MW2 and World at War, there is no point in getting Black Ops. other than getting a different campaign. MW2 for the great multiplayer and World at War for co-op campaign, zombie mode and some different weapons. Black Ops. will just seem like a rip-off if you have atleast 2 Call of Duty games.

Why is Halo a bad game?

Why is Killzone a bad game?

Why is (insert name of a popular franchise) a bad game?

It's all subjective anyway.

The gameplay is garbage the graphics are aweful the maps are unmemorable,the hit detection is wack, its laggy, the weapons are lame, the community is a sewer and it's made for whiny casuals who enjoy peekaboo easy mode, bottom feeding run of the mill corner camping ghost loving BORING COD clone turd games..

I don't hate it, infact it's pretty good, but I guess it's something about COD games made by Treyarch because they never hold my attention as long as IW COD games.

Maybe thats why people don't like Black Ops, because it really isn't much different from the three previous Call of Duty games released before it. In terms of multiplayer all they did was change the way you unlock stuff. Gameplay wise it's Call of Duty 4 but with the ability to dive in the air. Big whoop. In terms of campaign they actually regressed, in Modern Warfare 2 they at least got rid of those sequences where enemies keep spawning till you advance to a particular position. Black Ops went backwards and brought that annoyance back. Black Ops also doesn't have co-op campaign despite the developer making it available in their last Call of Duty game, World at War.

It's not a bad game. It's just a fouth helping of the exact same thing.

this game lags for a lot more people than mw2 did...thats why.

The endless "my pew-pew shooter is better than your pew-pew shooter!!" debate. By this time next year there will be a different set of games being argued over and your precious shooters of today will just collect dust. Just enjoy the game you got with your allowance and move on already. Don't bash on KZ or BF or BL OPS or w/e the flavor of the month is just because mom wouldn't buy it for ya. If ya don't like the game, buy/rent/play a different one.

The other shooters have problems of their own if you check the forums. Hordes of people buy these games and many enjoy them (despite any problems they may have)...however many people also like Justin Bieber so millons of people CAN be wrong.

I'm still giggling at the guy who said on one forum, "I'm done playing BL OPS. Stupid campers. I'm gonna wait till 'insert game here' comes out and play that. There won't be any campers there." Uh-huh. Sure.

well let's put it this way the campaign is so different and VERY AWESOME I loved every minute of it

but the multiplayer well I liked it at first the graphics are nice it looks much better than MW in many ways (and MW is superior in some other ways) but it just doesn't feel as good :P I had ps3 till 2010 :P I reached lever 60 or something in mw2 but then I bought it on xbox (now I don't have ps3 anymore :P ) and I'm still playing it like crazy :P

Which isn't such a bad thing if you consider "First Strike" is $15.00 for a small map pack. I did buy it of course, but I still question it's worth when compared to a full game.

Directed to the poster above me. Different strokes and all that, this is the first campaign I really didn't like at all. In my opinion IW has always made better solo campaigns than Treyarch though. If I were to make a list today from best to worst it would be all IW at the top and then Treyarch games on the bottom with Black Ops being dead last.
