Christian chorus? If your talking about the background music in the menu for Halo: Combat Evolved then that isnt a christian chorus. Thats the "Gregorian Monks" or whatever theyre called.
[QUOTE="greenghost123"]in the halo games??? is it the forerunners singing or what?Lostfile
Your making that sound like it's a bad thing. I think it's awesome.

I like it but I don't know why its there, seems outta place
Halo has so many religious undertones, some frankly verging on the subversive that the Christian chorus comes as no surprise.

I like the religious theme to the covenant. I dont see how that would undermine the game?Â

You'd have to understand quite a bit about religion to catch all the references and what they are hinting at in some part of the Halo story. And I'm not about to discuss it now because I'd get modded and a flame war would erupt.Â
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong with this, but I seem to remember that the Halo menu music was actually made up overnight. The guys from Bungie were getting ready for a demo showing of the game but they did not have time to set up background music. One or two of the guys came up with the tune and threw it on the demo. Obviously they cleaned it up after the demo showing (and apparently the demo was good enough). Again, if someone knows differently, please correct me, but for discussion's sake that's what I remember.

don't mess with the halo theme. it's a classic. i put it up there with the zelda and mario theme music.herbie12282
I must admit, the Halo theme is pretty awesome. I never played the original, absoultely hated Halo 2, but really enjoyed 3. It was fun playing the campaign while listening to the awesome theme. It really got me into it.
It's not really a christian chorus. Marty O'Donnell describe it more of a monks chant. But anyways.... I'm don't know why they went with the chant. I like it though. It really sets up a somber feeling. Plus it really went with the religious under currents of the game. The Covenants Crusade for the divine bayond. The Demon that is Master Chief. 'Halo'..... I dunno. It just really fits.Private_Vegas
completely agree. the "song" fits perfectly imo

What makes you think it's christian?
There isn't, it's Gregorian chanting. Not even remotely Christian. It's just supposed to sound epic.
However, there are certainly a lot of religious references in Halo. The Flood, The Ark, The Covenant, etc. It would have been clever if they had named MC Noah instead of John (please note that I am not endorsing religion in any way, as I am a religion-hating (the concepts, not the people) atheist).

Halo theme tune is an all time classic - instantly recogniseable and a great piece of music.
I love that youtube video from that high school show where they break into the mario theme in the middle lol
