Why Pre-Order???

I have never pre-ordered a game in my life. Why do people do it? It just seems like a waste of 5$...almost always some store in my town has the copy of the game the day it debuts.

How is it a waste of $5? That $5 goes to the payment of the game.

Plus if you are going to pick up a game like Halo 3 from a smaller store like Gamecrazy or EB, you better pre-order.

Or , maybeI used my EMV goggles(or that one thing in Splinter Cell that you use to find the hot wire and cut it to stop the detonation)and stopped it from being able to detonate.;)

Why pre-order? because you can't wait for the game to come out andis very eager to play the game the minute it is out! if you don't pre-order it, you mostly won't be able to get it in the first day of the release date and you will have to find yourself drooling for the game reading this forum at that day.

when i reserved H3 legendary the money i payed went to buying the game

I've never preordered. When Halo 2 came out, I got two copies from walmart (1 for my brother)
I'll do the same for Halo 3.

A waste of $5????????? How is it a waste of $5? That money is going towards the purchase of the game. If that's the case, the entire $65 is a waste....I'm sure $5 will not hurt your pockets. I'm sure you have or will pre-order Halo 3.

Yep. The cost goes towards the payment of the game. I've never been in a position where I couldn't get a game without a pre-order, but it's nice to be assured of a copy if for whatever reason, the non pre-orders all get picked up. Plus, it helps stores like Gamestop know the interest level in the game and how many copies they might want to order.

If the game looks like it's going to end up being terrible, you can always apply the money to something else instead.

I know at EB Games that if you decide not to buy the Pre-Ordered game, then you can still get you're money back. I did that for Test Drive Unlimited.
